can someone please explain to me what 'war on terror' actually means? -how can you wage war on an emotion?- 'war on terrorism' i can compute- but 'terror'?

-who exactly are the enemy and what are/were its goals (-to irradicate human fear -surely not?)

-why has nobody asked this question before? (-never before in military history have i ever come across such a vaque mission statement)

actually according to military intelligence experts Obama has done a better job than bush/cheney. Obama increased the lines of communication thus coordinating a multifaceted approach to anti-terrorism.this new approach has been successful in bringing down top al queda and taliban operatives.

don't get me wrong though, I agree that Afghanistan demands our attention, but not in any means of a full scale war. Afghanistan is a lawless land with no industry whatsoever. so its not the same package as Iraq. Surging troops there will just cause more death with little results.

Afghanistan is nothing more then a political dance to obama. Winning over there would mean having a low U.S. profile and to buy the drugs and burn what we buy. this would turn the Afghans against the taliban.

Apparently you guys didn't get the memo - just like the War on Terror is now "OCO" the term "snorting coke" is now known as an "olfactory transfer event" or OTE for short. Also "having a face-full" has also been changed to "non-pyhsician applied de-sensitzation" or "NAD" - So the news story SHOULD read - VP's daughter makes a video demonstrating an OCO, experiencing a NAD. Disregarding the fact that the Afghans view on drugs is far different from our own.
