I believe it's both. At one time I quit for 3 months while I was laid off from work one winter. But when I went back to work in the spring I found myself wanting to smoke while I would do certain things(I work oustide). It was about having something in my hand. Toothpicks helped for a while, but I would cach myself "flicking the ashes" off of them. As for Obama, good idea quitting right before you take on the most stress of your life. Good Luck.

well lets be honest, many are weak people (not "bad"). not all! some have legitimate excuses based on social environmental factors in their upbringing. many though, perhaps the majority, do not have these excuses and are indeed weak.

Among other things, he is a role model to many, young and old. Older may understand, but younger may see the smokes as indeed being "cool". Their premise: Obama-the Messiah Himself- is a smoker, so why shouldn't I? Not good, it IS important he quit and that it was public :)

If someone wants to smoke leave them alone. I don't see people passing laws to get rid of big bother liquer, why just pick on smoking, why not bann everything else that is bad for you-how about red meat, butter and salt? Don't they cause health problems too? BTW---for all of people out there, only people who smoke pay more for healthcare. They pay extra for thier habit, not non-smokers. how dumb can you get?

I believe it's both. At one time I quit for 3 months while I was laid off from work one winter. But when I went back to work in the spring I found myself wanting to smoke while I would do certain things(I work oustide). It was about having something in my hand. Toothpicks helped for a while, but I would cach myself "flicking the ashes" off of them. As for Obama, good idea quitting right before you take on the most stress of your life. Good Luck.
