It's been shown before that Zilla could have burrowed fast enough to avoid that blast. That blast should not have killed him, but the next move should have. Plus I think Zilla Jr (from the Animated series) could have stood a slightly bigger chance (since he was smarter than Zilla and had atomic breath.)

If they had showed Toho how retarded the Zilla design is then Toho would have for sure said "No" don't make an American Godzilla film. So that's why Tri-Star kept the Godzilla design low key as to avoid criticism from Godzilla-fans and Toho studios.
I have been a Godzilla fan since I was a little kid in the 1970's. I want to thank the author of the Godzillathon. I watch all 29 of them and that was awesome. Thank you for bringing me back up to speed. I had lost track of Godzilla some time ago. From my perspective, the original is still the best. Also, Toho should reintroduced Godzilla back to American audiences with perhaps a remake of Godzilla vs King Kong but with total kick ass special effects and them fighting in NYC. Just a thought!!

Zilla is definitely a lot cooler than the traditional Godzilla which looks like.. Well, a dude in a rubber suit. Physically speaking, Zilla is much more realistic and plausible and thus in my opion completely pwns Godzilla. They shouldn't have let him go down that easy.

I still say that while the american Godzilla (officially named Zilla) sucks and stood no chance, this kill was not credible. It's been shown before that Zilla could have burrowed fast enough to avoid that blast. That blast should not have killed him, but the next move should have. Plus I think Zilla Jr (from the Animated series) could have stood a slightly bigger chance (since he was smarter than Zilla and had atomic breath.)

Zilla was killed by missiles....godzilla's breath is much more powerful those those said missiles. and no, zilla cannot burrow that fast, as in in the underwater scene versus the submarines...this scene fits perfectly for a head-on match between the two.

And my statement about the army choppers loosing track of Godzilla twice was based on the movie Zilla came from.
I argee Zilla sucks. I don't like him either. I just think this defeat wasn't an accurate depiction. THAT would not have got him. I'd have had no prob with knocking him airborne and blasting him before he could land, but he could have evaded this attack.

Yes, true. But Tri-Star did not show Toho blueprint/drawing designs of Zilla. If they had showed Toho how retarded the Zilla design is then Toho would have for sure said "No" don't make an American Godzilla film. So that's why Tri-Star kept the Godzilla design low key as to avoid criticism from Godzilla-fans and Toho studios.

I have been a Godzilla fan since I was a little kid in the 1970's. I want to thank the author of the Godzillathon. I watch all 29 of them and that was awesome. Thank you for bringing me back up to speed. I had lost track of Godzilla some time ago. From my perspective, the original is still the best. Also, Toho should reintroduced Godzilla back to American audiences with perhaps a remake of Godzilla vs King Kong but with total kick ass special effects and them fighting in NYC. Just a thought!!
