I'm thinking 3-way SLI is overall better than 4-way. Not only is 4-way money-draining, it requires a huge case, a huge motherboard, a beefy PSU, and is more often than not bottlenecked by the CPU, thus getting lower FPS than 3-way at times. Also needs liquid-cooling, which adds even MORE cost.

3-way fits into the 1250w range and does not require all of the above. Water-cooling is nice, but not totally necessary. 4-way, good luck running without water-cooling.

People seem to like to ignore the fact that Maxishine is playing AT 2560x1600 RESOLUTION!!!!!!!!!! THATS DOUBLE THE PIXEL COUNT PEOPLE. SO TAKE YOUR FRAMERATE AT 1080P AND CUT IT IN HALF!!! Great video. Would there be much difference between SLI and Tri-Sli setups? EVGA sells a 1.5 gig and new 3.0 gig vram cards. For a single monitor setup, is 1.5 gigs of vram good enough our should I opt for the 3.0 gig vram card. Also, the 1.5 gig card is pre overcloced to 850mhz and the 3.0 gig card is at stock speeds. Can't decide if I should get the pre over clocked card or do my own overclocking with a stock card. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

people the reason his FPS are so low is because of one thing and one thing ONLY CryEngine 2 doesnt support Quad SLI GTX 580 or Tri SLI if you wanna see Quad SLI on Crysis 2 you will sometimes get 300+ FPS proved by Manuaco

@1337vIKz crysis is just a stupid bottle neck of a game, people shouldn't even use it as a benchmark anymore, it's not that 3 GTX 580's CAN'T render the game at a higher frame, it's that the game WON'T let the card render it at that, shitty programming, and it can't communicate properly because of this.

sort of like how it's impossible to run a PS3 Emulator as of right now, not that the PS3 is more powerful, just there's a bottleneck in the language. extra power to compensate.

the reason the frames are so slow in some spots is because CryEngine 2 is not optimized and not upgraded to today cards and CryEngine 2 is so pretty much expect 100+ Frames with Quad SLI and TRI SLI because in his Heaven 2.1 he had more than 100 fps as max

He is running the game on three 30inch monitors with resolutions at 2560X1600, WQXGA (Wide Quad eXtended Graphics Array) that have four times as many pixels as a regular WXGA (1280×800) display. With increased resolution managing frame rates at average of 40+ FPS is incredibly awesome.

If this was a simple 1080p monitor then except FPS of over 80, easily done.
