I love this movie but i find the translation hilarious, some bits are completely way off. for example a guy asked, 'bisa bahasa indonesia nggak?', and the translation on the subtitles shows 'if you were any closer you'd fall in' when it actually means can you speak indonesian? xD

Rod M. sure it's a good person, but people must kow that the this film is a copy of the life of Jim banks.. the original drifter.. the one that was the first to real leave the champs and highlights to find the peace and the essence of surf.... its a shame that taylor steele and Rob dont put his name on the credits... just a litle thanx.. or "inspired in the life of" will be ok...

Anyway.. good movie .. nice soundtrack... awsume surf(all rob machado).. no fu%$¨ing air 3-six or craps...

I finally had a chance to see this movie in its entirety. Beautifully filmed. Taylor Steele has really matured as a filmmaker; his eye for the little details is astounding. This may not be everyone's cup of tea (especially those that complain it doesn't have enough surfing), but I think even the most diehard complainers have to admit that the movie's images stay with you long after the final credits roll. I'd love to see Mr. Steele direct a major motion picture.

@extremeswag I wasn't really gr8 at surfing but I held my own water-skiing, scuba-diving (not-certified) but used diving equip to scrape barnacles off ships in the marina for cash, dove for oysters/clams & caught fish in nets a/w/a crabs in crab pots & sold them to seafood hses & restaurants. I used to love rock climbing & mtn climbing. Lupus (SLE) & Sjogren's prevents it now. I miss it terribly. I've been canoeing, kayaking (not gr8, but got better ovr time), dirt bike riding, etc. Loved it all

@extremeswag It's not easy to find decent breaks on the east coast. I always wanted to go to the west coast to give those a try. I'd probably have broken my neck in the process but it'd sure been worth it to catch a decent wave that'd allow more than mere seconds to a couple minutes b4 the wave flattened out on U. I guess that's why water skiing & jet skis got so popular here. Only the die-hards still surf & they're the few who know the locations of decent breaks. Thankfully, I dated a few ;)
