It's a really old instrument from the late 1800s, it can be considered an "acoustic banjo" of sorts, not really what is called a banjolin either. If anything, it's a mandolin-banjo. It's made by August Pollman, an old maker of stringed instruments, that used to be sold at train stations... no telling what it's worth.
I absolutely love that line from "Consecration" that he throws in at the very end.
By that medley is not with "Swedish Purse". I can't find any lyrics or information on that song at all, although he did play it when I saw him in October, too.
what a cool light!

does he have the star of david or some other one of solomon's symbols tattooed on his left arm?

He does sing the third verse to "Swedish Purse", but I just realized that the melody he's playing is from "Phyllis Ruth."

At 4:55 he´s starting with the third verse of Swedish Purse:
Chosen by candlelight
As great trees have fallen
Quietly and to herself
This is my language

Hmm, I guess you're right. The first verse in the medley is definitely not from any other song though. Maybe it's totally new.
