Do you know hard is it is to follow your cursor all over the screen on a fuzzy image. I suggest you change your cursor size and check your image before creating a tutorial. I cannot read anything on the image.
I'm trying to create a vertical menu with Spry and I can't get it to work. The Spry thing is inside an include and then on the pages of a site I'm working on. Maybe I'll watch some more videos.
After creating the spry table and CSS within Dreamweaver. Where do I paste the code into Blogger.com (ie for a blog that already has its own CSS already)?
@ZawadiSimone I have not done this on blogger.com, however if you have control over the css you can take the code you created in Dreamweaver CSS and put it in the CSS in blogger.com. You will also need to be able to add the javascript to blogger.com. See the header in your DW file - you will notice that you link to a css file and an js file. You have to be able to link to both of them in order for your spry bar to work. I'm just not sure how much control you have in Blogger.com
pls can a nice person tell me how to use dreamweaver 8 to pop up menu cos my pop up menu is like a faded print and refused to be clicked. is really ANNOYING.
I am using Macromedia Dreamviewer 8, I am able to am able to insert the Div Tag but unable to find the spry option in Insert this holds me back to follow up the Video please some one help, I would be thankful if someone helps me.
Hi! This is a GREAT help! I am teaching myself with no one to ask questions of so this is very very helpful. My question is I want to build a drop down menu that has photo images, not words. When clicked on, they would fill the center screen with a larger version of that image. Sort of a drop down photo "list". Is that possible?
Is there a way I could set up a pulldown menu on a different page then call it to my page thru one tag so i can make the menu global where all i need to do is update the one page with the menu and it will apply to all the pages?
How do u change the size of the menu bar? I am trying to fit a text in the menu bar but it breaks to the bottom making the navigation bar uneven...please help :)
Basically what you need to do is remember a couple simple things. The first css rule that shows up controls the entire bar, (example: ul.MenuBarHorizontal - changing font in this rule will change the font for the entire bar). Remember that the bar is based on an unordered list so you have tags like ul and li. If you change the width in the one ending ul li then you should be able to get the results you need. Let me know if that does not help and I will send you some more info.
Ok that helped, thanks alot....one more thing...Im having problems trying to locate the SpryMenuBarRight and the SpryMenuBarDown on my code because I need to reference it....cuz when i open the menu I created to the browser, the image that represents the arrow(which indicates a drop down) does not appear....Everything else showed up because I referenced it....but im having trouble referencing these two images...
Thanks, Dreamweavergal! I've created a div tag and put Spry menu bar inside of it, still, can't manage to position the menu bar to the center of the page/div tag, the menu bar is attached to the left side of the page, and wouldn't move anywhere without messing up the whole thing.
The short answer is to create a div tag where you want the navigation where you want it and place the spry nav inside of that div tag. If it is horizontal then you will need to create a class that clears the float before the closing div tag. Or you can adjust margins in the UL tag in the spry css sheet (I think it is the first style defined).
Awesome!!! You just saved me loads amount of time and tears trying to figure this thing out. Anyone know how or where to get a list of what CSS option does what function? I think that would help a lot as well
Hi DG thanks for the tutorial. Just curious, I follow step by step what you do, but when I choose Horizontal menu it comes out as vertical one. Why is that?
you need to upload spry assets. that has the java script to run the nav bar and the css to style it. Check neither of those have become corrupted including the css. Also check that all the ul li tags in the navigation bar page are in the right places.
sorry couldn't apply your tutorial to mine. I've finished everything, including slicing, from Photoshop cs3. How can I add a sub-menu in dreamweaver cs3? Pls Lady I need your help.
Nice tutorial, but I have one problem... I made a menu just like yours, but I also added a FLASH file directly under the menu. On Internet Explorer 7 it looks fine, but in Firefox3 the drop downs are hidden by the Flash file... is there a to fix this? Thanks
thanks for this. only comment I want to give is maybe next time you make a tutorial, lower the resolution so it's easier to see. I had it full screen and everything was blurry, but I understood it all from our descriptive narration. thanks again
