  • @Cmind18 Ive a rover 400 2ltr turbo diesel 1999 its a dream to drive long distance and its so reliable, ive no problems so far. Great car

  • @bmwfan4lyfe Why? My K-Series is still going strong after 113,000 miles....

  • I liked the early ones modelled on the Honda Concerto, and the later ones modelled on the Honda Civic.

  • These cars are very understated. I have a 45 (one of the last) - it is comfortable, good to drive and spacious. It cruises happily on the motorway, and the seats are extremely comfortable (unlike those in my previous car - a BMW 316i - which gave you serious back ache!!) Rover forever...

  • And the 2.0 si T Series ?

  • Catch yourself on! A Rover is way better than a stupid Cavalier.

  • the cavalier is waaaay better as this chromed civic, my aunt got this rover badged civic even in the same colour, its nasty! The Cavalier (named vectra) had more power, better value, more modern standard and best of all, there was no cheaper badged version!

  • The Rover was meant for the more mature people. Although now with Rover being bust, I have seen younger people with them. Like I said above, I have never had a problem with the Rover.

I have known a few people who had Cavaliers. But its like any car, there are always the "bad eggs" and the good ones. Unfortunately, people see a couple of bad Rovers and instantly think they are all bad, which is not the case. My uncles has the Rover 216 (J-Reg), bought it for £200 and its never skipped a beat.

  • He sounds like a right shallow dick

  • Couldn't agree more. I have owned my 96 Rover 414 (same colour as the one he drove BRG) and its never failed an MOT, never broken down and can eat most silly sods in boyracer mobiles for breakfast. I have owned mine for just over 4 years and I have not had one complaint about it.

  • I now own a 96 burgundy saloon 400

  • Amazing how many people say of their Rover "I've got the more reliable Honda engined version" when they havent. Weird.

I've had 5. All Rover engined, all had between 100 & 210,000 miles on the clock, all did over 40 mpg & 118 mph. And all under £350.

    Brilliant budget motoring
