Yo this isn't fucking fair. I'm from New York and I moved to Argentina about 4 years ago and I haven't gone to a Trio show since and it breaks my heart. Why the fuck won't Alkaline Trio go worldwide and get the fuck over here, sdflknsfdlkn it makes me so so so so so sad. :( I've loved them forever :( :(
The only songs in "Agony & Irony" that I like are: "Help me", "Over and out", "Love, love, kiss, kiss" and "Lost and Rendered". I don't care too much about the acoustic versions of some songs that were included in the Deluxe version.
well i guess everyone has their own opinions on what's good. i'm just saying, i don't personally like their new album. i think it's overcomplicated compared to what they used to be about. they are using special affects and auto tune and i think it's just too much. it's not as DIY punk sounding... if you think this overproduced genre is good then that's completely up to you. i'm not arguing.
I know what you mean, previously jerry finn had produced a lot of their records and I think he is responsible for so much of making the punk rock scene better of the last 15 years or so. over here in the uk, most bands have lots of synth crap and call themselves pop punk and personally i want to start a hardcore punk band and eventually release our own records etc etc.
the only problem with that is that yougotta let trends die out before you can come in with your own trend. like if it's the prime of the poppunk shit people are going to say that hardcore punk is gay, and only a select few would listen to you. its just how entertainment works. frankly all these really famous artists just were in the right place at the right time, they found their connections and earned a living. to try to revolutionize something is near impossible, it almost happens on accident.
i disagree, my local scene is so supportive and i've played in bands before from that scene. the rule of thumb for me is not gigging till you're completely ready and having good songs and playing them really tightly as a band
yeah that's true, that's just about being a professional musician. but to be completely revolutionary and shit and changing the scene it takes more than just a good band, it's good connections and luck that get these guys famous. look at the jonas brothers; not horrible music, but it's all about the connections that got them this famous.
i went to high school with the bassist from gaslight anthem and it gives me hope to see someone from my shitty little town make it as far as he has
