Ireland has one of the biggest untapped oil resources off its coast. From what I understand since the "credibility" of Ireland is bad, no one is willing to loan the money to them to start drilling, and the options left seem to be integrate with the UK (I personally disagree with) or possibly think about a monarchy (since big oil companies can come in and dominate interests unless they have someone to tell them to fuck off). Ireland isn't lost, just has tough decisions to make like everyone else.

I went to Eire once. It rained non-stop and was freezing cold. I didn't understand a word anyone said and everyone wore green. The only thing to drink was Guinness and everyone was drunk. The only food was Irish Stew and soda bread. No-one works and they constantly look to the past. I couldn't sleep because of the drunkards singing in the streets all night. I am never going back.

@malafella Thanks to Australia for taking so many of our kind in hard times. Canada and America are the same. Taking lots of us in. I'm still in Ireland, and there us really nothing here anymore.

@openuniverse2003 Ah, you have a wee little brain don't you. Over a third of Australia's population is Irish. The Irish have always been one of the biggest nationalities in Australia, second only to the British which hold around half of the population. The Irish contributed in immeasurable amounts to how Australia is today. And its a similar story in America. The only feral savage here is you.
