Yes this was the 97/98 season, by time we got to Gund, the canonballers had both left the show (he was fired she quit). No matter what any of you PETA freaks say..those animals were not abused in any way shape or form. When someone was just thought to be mistreating an animal he or she was fired on the spot. My oldest child is named for one of the elephants and my husband is in the in the final shots (around 25)...er former husband.

Using animals in a circus seems so outdated now that Cirque du Soleil is around. Ringling Bros should really step it up a notch (I think they're still around.) If they continue to use animals, they should try to make the show more creative and artistically edgy.

And also less chaotic. Every time I look at a clip of the show, there is mass chaos and lights flashing all over the place.

Cirque du Soleil is an amazing experience, which is what a circus should be.

at any age you should be aware of what happens for you entertainment youth is not an excuse.. Elephants are hit with steel--tipped bullhooks by trainers. Elephants, bears, and other animals are often confined to deplorable, cramped conditions that have no resemblance to their natural environment.

End the abuse neglect and disrespect that these animals suffer people can watch silly tricks. Ban Circus coming to your town so these animals can be treated with the compassion they deserve.

The idea of circuses abusing animals to do tricks doesn't even make sense. That means if the animal sits they are going to beat it. The animal will not do that trick ever again if the they got beat, because they will associate the trick with getting beaten. Like wise if you beat an animal because it doesn't do a trick, it doesn't teach the animal to do the trick. The idea of abusing animals to perform just doesn't make sense.

ringling doesnt abuse animnals. an elephants costs 200,000 dollars, if you had something that cost that much you would make sure nothing bad happened to it... thats like saying if you just bought a 200,000 dollar car that you would go slash its tires, you wouldnt because that wouldnt make sense. and neither does ringling abusing animals. if you actually think that a 6 ton animal is araid of a 200 pound man, you have issues.
