one thing i have still found not to be true about hydroponics is the claim they use less water than soil systems. i have tested this and found i always use slightly less in soil systems than hydroponic systems. those claims might be so on a commercial scale but i have found hydro always uses far more water than soil. most soil plants only need 500ml of water pr day per plant. i find with soil i waste no water as the soil soaks up everything
Holy crap this system sucks balls! You can do this yourself for about 40 dollars and a million times better. It annoys the shit out of me to see everyone coming out with something with a rubbermaid tote, pump, and pvc and want to patent it. This piece of shit does not even have any sprayers, just a hole shooting hard water at the roots? Fuck off.
must be a pain in the ass to have to change the water. how the fuck are u supposed to empty that thing when you have 8 plants that are all top heavy. good fuckin luck... thats why i make my own shit with separate res. o ya and no leaks too...
Very unhealthy roots, due to overwatering. Also, the nutrient solution looks like sewer water. Plant roots need room all the way around. You need to know what size the root mass will become for the plants you intend to grow.
NASA does not use this DWC technique. They use Aeroponics., which incorporatedd high pressure (>50psi) to convert the nutrient into a fog., which is sprayed periodically 24/7
@sense1510 you can obtain a patent easily first thing you can do is post a video on youtube about it to prove its your idea... or mail a copy of the video and plans to yourself and dont open the letter.....then you can bring the postmarked unopend letter to courtif you must..... btw can i order one of these?
dude shut the fuck up every body and there moms know theres a number to every patent stop trying to look smart faggot wtf u need the patent number for to scratch ur dumbass with it lame uncreative people go build some shit you cock sucker and get a fucking patent and let me steal it fucking homo this dude got 41,000 views you got one silly ass gay comment fucking pillow biten ass greasy whore bag lol good day!
i made an even smaller one made from a 15" tub. It allows me to use it in smaller spaces and have more height room for lights. i designed mine using 2" net pots.
roots become and help each other, much like with oaks and many other plants. It is important to keep them trimmed up and clean as some sections will die and need to be removed, this is done during water changes...
I could make a spiral stairway planting system out that box and maybe one day people shall upgrade the space-elevator into hydrponic beanstalk system in the moon?
you can germinate seeds in these without using media. You can cut a bit of nft spreader mat and place into the pots and then put seeds in. saves on buying grow sponges.
build one for like 50$ at home depot. i just built 10 for about $350 . use roughneck containers, a 200gph pump, some pvc and sprinklers , and your good..
purhouse of hydro is an alternative to soil but i would never reccomend geeting away from soil as its wht nature intended. WOuld you wanna eat potatoes grow in chemical water
Are you serious man? Chemicals? What do you think is in your miracle grow.....or pre-purchased soil at home depot.
Unless your getting organic soil, they are all fortified with chemicals and these "chemicals" are nothing more than the essential nutrients the plants need to grow.
This method you control exactly how much, and exactly what nutrients your plants get.
ive done tests and it seems plants grow better with something that the roots can spread through like pebbles or soil. I have found that grow in air develop less horizontal spread than soil & pebbles or coir. This is quite a good idea but i advise anybody never to eliminate soil fron their plans entirely and this is just an added method of growing
the roots still develop better with something to anchor themselves in if you no what i mean. THE best hydro systems are the ones where the roots grow into pebbles. THe deep water cultures works ok but the roots don't become as developed as they have nothing to anchor themselves. I've done tests so i know. YOU'll find drip & flood & drain works the best for root development.
im not rtying to make people feel stupid, im trying to keep them moving forward with ideas and innovation, this is a level 1 grow piece, much more can be done that allows for less maintenance and cleaning........idiot
that isnt even aeroponics. Check the aeroflow-60 or 120 site gardens....they use a 600 GPH pump to force water into tiny droplets...thats aeorponics. Your patent pending junk is just phase 1 of your grow making career. Stop embarrassing your future self and sont post for another few years....the net pots are too small, a parasite in one plant is now in 8, there wont be enough stability on planyts that produce any weight.....like i said take a break from posting.....impossible to clean bi-weekly
inmon27 at least hes doing it, better then i am, and if you were so much better you wouldnt be wasting your time trying to make people feel stupid... jerkoff
wtf.... net pots too small? how the hell did you come to that conclusion. The only thing in the pot is the stem, the roots are suspended below the pots in water....douche.
Impossible to clean?...yes if you have no arms or cant be bothered to get a simple sponge and wipe down the inside before doing a water change....douche..x2.
His system looks pretty solid to me, unlike your iq.
Never use this system its a huge hassle. just imagine when you have a bushel of plants four feet tall and you have to change the nutrients. its a ridiculous hassle unless your syphoning the nutes out and refilling with another resevoir. i reccomend having another tank the exact size to extract and replace nutrients.
ive built my own aerogarden and was wondering if anybody had any ideas how to mount a light to the actual aerosystem just like the aerogarden lighthood. I havent been able to find anything suitable for this. IT would be really cool to use it on display rather than being stuck in a closet growing. then i can combine natural light with artificial light. HAs anybody tried making a lamp hood to fix onto the growing chamber just like the aerogarden
yeah...actually i used two bird care hangers...they look kinda like an upside down "j": it cost my eight bucks a pop.. and theyre completely adjustable...hit me up if u want pics
are these more prone to over fertilization than flood & drain systems. MY aerospring keeps producing rusty leafs whether i regardless of the cf level of my nutrients. Its annoying. Im using just ionic grow. Using paper ph test kit but isnt as precise as a digital ph meter. DO these aero systems need different nutrient strength to flood & drain.
theres a good article on dwc in the march issue of urban growe. since the plant is constantly feeding you gotta bring down the nutes to 1/2 or even 1/4 strength of what u would use in an ebb and flow
In my experience (almost 10 years) of using aeroponics, you need a fine mist to fully take advantage of aero systems which requires about 30 PSI or above to atomize the solution. These low pressure systems kill the fine root hairs which drastically reduces performance. This is obvious by how poor your roots look compared to what you'd get in a high pressure system. I don't see any advantage to this system compared to a cheaper deep water culture system.
WHat is usually the cause of brown roots? My roots keep turning brown. I am guessing this is normal. I fund my young 2 week old seedlings have small very few little tiny white spots on them. Aeroponic plants seem to be less desease resistant than soil. I
there are still some micro organisms that hydro grown plants dont have compared to soil. SOil grow plants just always seem to have a slight different look to the stems
You live in a country where the war on drugs is a business in itself, at least edit out the leaf shots. And what brbubba said, flood and drain is the best for most plant, pure deep water culture is great for lettuce and watercress.
remember roots grow into the chamber not the pots so you can grow a plant in a small hole of only the diameter of the stem. use the smallest hole possible. In fact i am working on designing a seed germination system that elimiates the need to use rockwool, pebbles or any media at all. ANybody any ideas how i can do this without light getting into the resovoir. this wont matter for the first few days of germination though will it. i am keen on trying seed pads or nets of some kind
just germinate your seeds out of the system. put vermiculite in a small pan of some kind and flood it with 1/2 strength of w/e nute you are using and in 5-7 days the taproot should be 4-6" long
i hear for two to four plants, 80 watts of fluorescent good if you got a small apartment and no dent in energy bill almost. just two four foot growing bulbs. make sure spectrum different for each bulb, one red one cool blue (just names the light isint THAT colorful)
You can make this yourself for a few bucks. Patent pending my ass, these plans are in many hydroponic books as DIY ideas. In addition the poster didn't even use spray heads, instead opting to just drill a hole in the PVC pipe.
