I remember reading an article about him years ago. You sure put into wonderful words about life and like Jan commented thought provoking!! Thank you for uploading!!
Very thought provoking PappyStu. I must admit, it's something I've never given a great deal of thought to, which is sad. Thank you for an excellent upload. ♥
WOW, I guess I spurred that. Thanks for that. My comment was to take exception to the word "simpler". To answer your question from MY perspective, it is better to live a longer life with physical problems later in life if your earlier life is filled with greater knowledge of the world, ability to travel greater distance with relative ease (planes, cares, internet) and experience more and interact more. It is obvious that there is no after life, so why not extend this life as long as it can?
@KiheiLawyer We traded some things for others no doubt... In regard to after life I have no personal testimony as I have yet meet anyone who has first hand knowledge *VBG*
@PappyStu Please do not tell me that you still believe in a god. Intelligent people have moved beyond that. I get so tired of meeting new people that are seemingly highly intelligent such as yourself, but then find out they still believe in fairy tales. It becomes very discouraging over time. Enjoy your videos.
Great video, I haven't run across many folk who've known the story of Ishi. He had an interesting style of drawing his bow requiring great strength... I think he sacrificed years of his life by interacting with the rest of us, but for those who do know of him are richer for it!
ishi is one of the words that make up my name. my name is something I created for myself as a message to myself.fyi. the spelling ishi goes all the way back to the Sanskrit language. other than one document dated c.17th cent sanskrit is oldest written lang. you probably know that though smart as you are about things like this. As far as your theoretical question about short or long lives... it is definitely something on our perspective and what we value in life. Loved the vid.really loved it.
Fascinating! What probably killed the man is spending the last five years of his life in a building...
