  • Thank you for uploading this, I love this movie.

  • This is a minor peeve, but they can never find an actress with skin as white as snow and lips red as blood. Even a touch of lipstick would have helped. It takes me out of the story a bit when the character doesn't match the description the story itself gives them. Otherwise, this is looking quite promising! Thanks for sharing.

  • Claudia cast a spell to kill the mother. See that raven and the wolves at the beginning? She's watching them through their eyes just like she did with Lilli. Too bad she failed to kill the baby, as usual. Her spells suck.

  • Shame this is set in Medieval America...

  • ouch i felt bad for the horse that got attacked :(

  • Ca. 04:48: I'm sorry, but the director who made this movie must be stupid. I mean, sorry, but how can you put a red, perfect apple from an oak tree?! Seriously...

  • Can't wait to see Tarsem Singh's "Snow White" and Rupert Sanders' "Snow White and the Huntsman"!!! :D :D :D

  • eu assisti esse filme todo pelo you tube muito bom!!!!

  • Lily is a bit spoiled! ;-)

  • i would do that to save mihh babyy...

  • Oooh, I love live-action movies that stay tru(er) to the original fairytales...we've heard enough of the childrens' versions!

  • holy fucking ball shit

  • Oh Sam Neil!

  • i am a Grimm brothers fan

  • sam neil lol

  • I see Sam Neil. He's a very good Actor

  • I watched this when i was young and i want to watch it again^_^

  • love this movie i just bought the dvd cause is amazing .. an i also love stardust, ever after, snow queen those are great movies

  • I have loved this version of Snow White since I saw it for the first time. Thanks for putting it up!

  • i like this version~! ^^ didn't know it's here in YT~

  • I never pictured Snow White's real name to be Lilly. But I guess it fits because Lilies are white.

  • hey i love this film so much, as well as confessions of an ugly stepsister, ever after etc, if anybody can think of anything like that, or just anything good please tell me!

Thanks so much for posting this, I keep watching it over and over!

  • @moonoftheeternal Off the top of my head? I would have to say my all time favorite list... LadyHawke, and Willow. Those two you can not go wrong.

  • @moonoftheeternal Adding on to this list after looking through my own collection I think you would like Stardust, Labyrinth, The Golden Compass, Pan's Labyrinth, The Brothers Grimm, Snow Queen (by Halmark), Snow White Fairest of them All (Halmark, this one adds both snow whites ..of the sisters and the dwarves ), Company of Wolves... xD, The 10th Kingdom, (VERY GOOD has all fairytales in it almost >>; ) The Princess Bride, Legend (tim curry as darkness again can't go wrong with that! )

  • @BardandQueen thanks so much for replying, most people don't! I have seen stardust labyrinth- one of my favourites, Golden compass, borthers grimm, snow queen, fairest of them all and legend. ILove all of them, although a tale of terror remains my number one i think. I will look at the others, so thank you, made my day!!! 10th kingdom looks good so i'll give that a go!

  • @moonoftheeternal 10th kingdom is wonderful a great mixture of 'dark' and light of fairytales mixed with the various twists and turns and you get to find out what happened 'after happily ever after'. ^.^ i would post it here but it is a three dvd set and well....that is just waaaaaaaaaaaay too long for youtube posting and last i knew of it someone did post it ..somewhere....i think.

  • @moonoftheeterna, I have watched all of them except this one. There is something special about those old classics that needed no CGI effects or "popular" casts to sell tickects. these films were great for their time, full of magic and enchanting storytelling.

  • @BardandQueen All of those are great movies!

  • @BardandQueen love the 10th kingdom!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @BardandQueen I love these alternate fairytales too, but Golden Compass isn't my favourite, mostly since they neutured the book for a greater audience appeal. They still get points for showing the polar bear fight in most of it's bloody glory though XD This though, is probably my favourite Snow White adaptation (I adore her ending up with Will), though Snow White and Huntsman looks like it'd be fun, I'm even willing to give to Kristen Stewart a chance there ^^

  • @MadameChristie A very very small chance I shall give her too but if she mucks it up..OFF WITH HER HEAD. But there is hope with Charlize Theron as the wicked queen.... who btw looks GORGEOUS in her wickedness. XD And can't wait to watch mirror mirror...i am ready for a gigglefit over that one. ^_^

  • @moonoftheeternal They just came out with beastly which is a modern beauty and the beast. I thought it was pretty good

  • @moonoftheeternal i dont know if you've seen the miniseries Tin Man but i enjoy it very much it is vaguely similer to the 10th kingdom.

  • Thanks for posting this movie o You Tube! I always wanted to watch this Snow White horror version. Have a nice day! :)

  • this is pleasent......

  • I just watched it and its a great movie, I loved it. But one thing is wrong with your info, I would NOT recamend this for 10-year-olds. I also don't like the ending, its a bit of a cliffhanger.

  • thanks for putting this up :)

  • i love this movie......are there any other good fairytale movies like this?

  • Thanks for posting! :)

  • This movie is so good and it took me ages to find it! Thank you!

  • Do you know how hard it is to find this movie??? IMpossible!!!! Thank you for posting it...

  • maybe that was the time when the carriage accident happened

  • good film :)

  • my friend said i should watch this and ....... I LOVE IT !!!

  • the real Grimm's tales are actually like fantastical coming-of-age stories for their time. This film gets alot of credit from me, as it's the most on-target with the original story compared to any I've ever seen or read.

Try searching for the animated version of the original Grimm's tales and you will find another of the most accurate and macabre version of these stories, as well as many others obscure from American awareness.

  • ...believe it or not, these were the real Grimm's tales. Cinderella and Snow White were just two of the many tales the wrote, most actually involving protagonists from these tales and integrating them into others (like Snow White and Rose Red).

You must forget Disney - the only hack and slash they've ever done was to their stories - it's actually 'cuz of Disney many generations in this country were duped into believing fairy tales are cute stories for small children...

  • when I was little, we only had nickelodeon for kids' programming. There were only a few shows they could play (besides looney tunes, which they didn't show).

So there was a huge block during the day when they'd actually show dubbed anime shows. One of these was a series based on the real Grimm's fairy tales. Each episode was based on a different story, and my mom didn't like us watching it because they were very dark, macabre, and even involved violence, blood, and nudity...

  • it went from a disney fairytale to a classic spooky horror thing...LOVIN IT!!! (:

  • Never watched this before, but going by your description I have hopes I will like it. I myself enjoy "good old spookiness" far more than straight up gore and horror, it is so much more classy and rare ):

  • It is such a shock going from friendly Disney adaptations to classical representations of Fairy Tales. The shock just isn't the level to which Disney watered down the interpretations but at how much more effective and real feeling the other tales are. For me this is the only movie that gets so close to being correctly labeled as a Fairy Tale that every thing else is fantasy in comparison.

  • finaly a scary movie that doesnt care me...lol

    i love it

  • yeah, i never like the good snow white because she was so stupid eating a apple, what idiot, annd here is more terrfyng

  • This is one of my favrote films. As much as I love the Disney version, I prefer this version better.

  • great that you put this movie on youtube. i bought this movie long time ago at the internet, but it doesnt work on my dvd - player, because of the "regional code". i am german. now i can see it for free ;-)

  • she says " the baby, she's coming..."

how did she know it was a girl?

  • usually she is used when the sex is unknown, also for inanimate objects such as vehicles, and animals.

  • sometimes mother feel that... my mom knew each time if baby was girl or boy when pregnant.

  • This film is so good, I'd love to have it... You know where I can download it??? Thankss

  • It's called iTunes/Napster. Or LimeWire if ur too broke to pay for it.

  • The virion I'm reading starts off more disturbing and dramatic too...

  • Finally a classical fairty tale that has nothing to do with Disney! I'm reading an original virion right now by tanith lee called white as snow. And I love how it really gets into the emotions. The cultural ways that I'm personally familiar with helps me understand how they fall into such situations, sexism, religion, rape, murder, all the real deal.

  • The Original Stories Where The Best

  • She picked an apple from an oak tree?!

  • is there an italian version?

  • the brothers grim originally made this a blood and gore fairytale so yeah its pretty much like this. thnx brothers grim and thnx for posting it on BardandQueen

  • i saw this movie on tv yesterday for the first time and i thought that this movie was more grimm because when claudia sends gustav to kill lilly he was really able to kill her but she escaped

in the disney version the huntsman was not able to kill her at all and also what happens to gustav after this occured is also pretty horrific

  • I loved this movie. I remember I watched on USA network when I was younger.

    thanks for posting it.

  • The beginning of this movie kinda reminds me of Ever After: A Cinderella Story.

  • I've watched the disney film of Snow White and read the book but i didn't know that this movie could turn out to be a horror film.

  • when i was a little boy i tought that this move was a animation movie (like disney's one), so when he came up on tv i looked at him and it was so scary lol .

I was 6 years old but i loved the beginning when liliana dies and when that old women dies,... that was creepy...

  • i cant believe it!!!! Thank U soooooooooo much for uploading this!!!

I watched this many years ago, but could not remember wot it was called:(

    Ive been searching for ages!!!!!!!

    ThankU!!!!!!!!!

    lol

  • i saw this when i was little and all i remember is getting scared and my mom getting pissed at my dad for letting me and my sister stay up to watch it lol

  • Why does he murder his wife?

  • he didn't MURDER his wife. she died as a result of the accident. What he did was perform an emergency c-section to save the baby.

  • are these grim fairytales?

  • Yes.

  • i remember watching this when i was about 8,i remember the beggining part so much and i didnt know that it was snow white until the words showed up, i thought it was so cool, but i didnt get to watch the ending, anyways it reminded me of sleepy hollow, and that i did watch, alot

  • HOLY SH*TTT!! I did not expect the werewolves to attack the driver and i definetely didnt expect the dad to cut open his wife to save the baby! this movie is friggin...whoa...definetly not disney thats for sure haha! LOL i like it though..not like the others ive seen

  • your right..ITS WAY BETTER THAN DISNEYS!!!

  • *SPOILER ALERT*

  • i saw this when i was like 8.. i really love it!

such a dark rendition of snow white :p

  • Most Disney movies are based on the Grimm brothers stories. But they have to make it for little kids so they leave out all the gore.

  • Yes! At last a gory and Grimm on take of the story. I'm sick of all the unrealistic 'happy dappy' versions. This is simply perfect :D

  • sigourney weaver rocks!

  • Thankyou SO much for uploading this! I absolutely adore this movie!

  • Alright, so there are many versions of the Snow White fairy tale!

Someone please tell me the version where the character's name is Felicity!

  • i love this snow white better.. super scary.. snow white :D

  • I loved the wolves thing and what happens to the coachman (driver) because of this?

  • "Ever After" (1998), the 'true story' behind "Cinderella", would be released a year after this.

  • the one with Drew Barrymore? I lent a German book with Grimm fairy tales. I don't think fairy tales were supposed to be nice.

  • They weren't. They were meant to scare the piss out of children so they would behave and learn lessons. The actual Grimm stories were grim and gorey. The one's in America are watered down greatly.

  • Thats very true they Disneyfied all their stories. sometimes that really pisses me off. because i have read some of these and they are graphic. so much better than happy happy and talking, singing animals.

  • i said original. if you think that the disney is the original thats is so wrong. read some Brothers Grimm even some Hans Christian Anderson and get back to me.

  • I totally agree with you about the fairy tales.

The Brothers Grimm tales are rarely "happiliy ever after" endings like the disney classics.

    Thanks for uploading.

  • True good in a story can only exist with a true evil to challenge and test it. And by true I agree that the Disney characterizations are far from true.

  • does anybody know where they filmed this?

  • ...Is that the guy from Jurassic Park?

  • Yep. Sam Neill. The one and only ^_^

  • hahaha like its his only movie lool

  • Amazing film one of my favorites..great upload!

  • OMG! I totally remember this movie!! I watched it when i was young like around 10 or 11

  • If you think a girl w/ fair skin, blue eyes and coal black hair is pretty give me a thumbs up.

  • Yeah b/c thats me.

  • You're just mad b/c you dont have that and everyone knows its the hottest.

  • Some people just need to shut up, like YOU.

  • You're talking like a boy.

  • ok well i cant even see what i wrote and it was that long ago that it doesnt even matter to me so i cant remember what i wrote LOL so telling me that makes no sense to me at all... tbh i dont even remember watching this vid...

  • @MaliceInWonderland21

    hell yes

  • @MaliceInWonderland21 Anyone with fair skin is pretty! I am a natural redhead with fair skin and blue eyes!

  • @MaliceInWonderland21 I AM a girl with fair skin, blue eyes and coal black hair. It's awesome

  • I'm all for Disney movies, trust me. But I have to say that I like this version a lot more than Disney's take.

  • well i for one disagree with merdenoms because it was france that started "fairy tales" in opposed to "grim tales" it wasnt hollywood

  • i lov this version the other 1 is just crap

  • most fairytales are laced with terror. hollywood made them over to seem more child

excepting.thanx so much for the upload

  • i mean of course fairy tales were laced with terror, they were originally created to warn children of stuff that they shouldnt do or whatever, without actually telling them the real danger, like "dont go into the woods cos there is a woman who likes kids a little too much and they dont usually come back" instead that was the story of hansell and grettel and the woman was a witch

  • thanks for uploading it again!

been waiting for a long while :)
