  • I found one of these buried in the mud out in the middle of no where after i ran it over with my truck. Cleaned it off and it's a great knife. Is that the state of Idaho stamped on to the knife in the video?

  • Buck improved the damn thing, they made it ambidextrous.

  • @zanuha Yeah, alright. Pin construction, inferior steel, etc. The only reason they could make it ambidextrous is because has steel liners on both sides. One of the reason Striders are so great is the weight. Slap a steel liner on one to allow for mounting a pocket clip on the reverse side and you've added a ton of weight. Not worth it, if you ask me.

  • @ethancfbz

If genuine Striders were ambidextrous, I'd get one in a heartbeat.

  • @zanuha They're going to make some lefty models in the next run of knives.

  • @ethancfbz

Cool, now if only I could find some Strider dealers in Finland.

  • It was hilarious when nutnfancy mistook an actual Strider SnG for this knife at the SHOT Show, the guy got all pissed. ^^ This knife is about 10% the price of that one.

  • how much is this Strider?

  • im wondering who would dislike a review...

  • if you want a knife that looks and feels like a strider i would say this would be a great knife btu if you are willing to pay 400 dollars and want the s30v blade with the strider logo the sng would be better

  • Hey bro would you sell that?? id give you 100 for it.....

  • HOT!

  • could i buy that off of you ?

  • Excellent review!!

  • the buck looks cooler lol

  • 50 bucks!!! @#%%

  • at a old hunting store i 1 week ago i saw a buck strider in a desplay case for 89 dollars.... odd....... btw would a discontinued knife be of higger value

  • Nice review. Can't really compare a $50 knife to a $400+ SNG. It looks cool though and I wouldn't mind owning one.

  • can folding knives be spring loaded

  • Yes, I think so

  • yes there are switch blades that you push a button or something and the blade flips out on its own. there are assisted opening blades where you open the blade a bit and a spring takes over and opens it. and there are OTFs "out the front" you slide a small lever up a bit and the blade come straight out the front. different people call them different things so dont quot this word for word

  • Don't know why but I don't like the knife .I own one and have used it .

  • I'm holding my Strider SNG right now watching this review!

  • how does a buck strider compare to a sng?

  • @suicidechickenshit What the fuck is your problem? Fucking idiot troll.

  • Just got one NM in box. I guess I found a good one: Very solid lock-up, centered blade, smooth action, no play whatsoever. Factory edge was so-so, sharpened it to my own standards. It's a real beast and it feels very logical - I never understood the shape of Striders but now I do. Nice comparison you made!

  • I've done a bit of a mod on this knife. Bent the liner to lock much more solidly, (Maybe thinking about working with a friend who's made framelock scales to make a new thicker liner. )

Also took blue scales from a training version. The knife looks great and I really like it. Buck should redesign the knife with thicker liners and reproduce it.

  • Why did Buck try to copy Strider? Can anyone tell me?

  • It is a collaboration, not a copy. They probably wanted to offer the Strider look and feel at a more affordable price. And make money.

  • I guess 14 is your age?

  • no 19 you prick

  • Comment removed

  • these lock up like a Tank just saved $400

  • You can still find these on eBay. I have 2 of these, like them very much. Very good review

  • I have a Buck Strider. I hope it had a G-10handle. My one looks cheaper.

  • There's three of these at my local Academy.

  • Yep. I picked one up today.

Im iffy on it really. I'll give it a few days before I reserve judgment on it though.

  • What kind of Kershaw was that?

  • how much better is a real strider than this, is a real strider that much better??????????

  • original strider is much stronger

  • yes

  • omfg i cant stop watching this vid i want that kind of knife but nobody is selling them i benn w8ting months for it but they dont have any anywhere

  • omfg where can i buy one please comment back

  • i saw a couple listed on knifeforums a few days ago, probably are still there

  • customtaticals can you please identify my strider i recieved in a trade i dont know anything about the knife the blade has sb4 on the opposite side of the tang

    please respond

    gotknive

  • Its a buck strider tarani

  • it dosent say where its made

  • Its a buck. its made in USA

  • In case someone wants to pick up one second hand, or if a knife enthusiast is just curious about the knife and has never had the chance to handle one and may never will. What's the point of watching Movies when we know none of it is real? What's the point of watching anything? Entertainment.

  • Well said. :)

  • Is this blade legal in canada and how many inches? forgive me if he mentions it in the vid I did not watch it all plz reply.

  • Yes it's legal in Canada. The only ones that are not legal are push button openers.

  • depends on the province, some have a 2.5-3inch length restriction

  • I did'nt even know these knives existed until I watched this review. I own the strider ar and sng,and now thanks to this video I now own 2 buck\strider 889's. One with green and one with brown grips. Got a fairly good deal on ebay. Thanks for a great review.

  • cant he have his own opinion without having a -6 rating? its not like he was bien offensive

  • that does sound dumb, your an idiot

  • i have the Buck Strider Tarani ATS-34 BOS version of this and love it for my edc knife. the only thing i do not like is that you cannot reverse the pocket clip

  • G10 is not a plastic. But anyway, what do you prefer?

  • I actually prefer stainless steel or any light metal sort. It just feels more sturdy for me.

  • like the 410 steel kershaw uses for alot

  • I believe G10 is a plastic/glass material.

  • G10 is closer to fiberglass or carbon fiber.

I wouldnt really compare it to plastic. I know what you mean about G10 tho.. not my fav either.

  • G10 actually is fiberglass, in sheets, laid one on top of another, and impregnated with epoxy, just like Carbon Fiber or Micarta. Only difference is with Carbon Fiber they use Sheets of Carbon weave instead of Fiberglass and Micarta they use Paper or Linen, etc.

  • I've got that knife in desert tan, nice knife but its heavy.. Thanks for the review.
