I like this alot. I don't know much about electric motors. what kind is it that turns this slowly and will reverse? It looks like you are plugged into a 110 drop cord so it ain't 3 phase. I hate it came apart and destructed on you. That was one dead flattener! I want one.
Very interesting idea. The youth group in our church would like to have a setup like this one. Could you send me the list of parts and any drawings you might have that we can build it. Thanks
FIRST SCREW DRIVE BASED CAN CRUSHER I SEEN. AND IT LOOKS REALLY GOOD! except one thing! its giving way on the far end a bit probably will break soon if not resolved. if it didnt give way i bet them already pretty darn flat cans would be even more thin! THEM R SUM THIN CANS! nice job!
@rsdoctorrx It did eventually break. It was just crap I had laying around at our shop. If you look closely at the proximity switch, there are a couple of mounting nuts that I forgot to take off. You can see them moving whenever the screw is turning. Not to long after, the nut fell off while it was running and it got wedged between the pvc and the prox. Needless to say, it thought it still needed to go in the forward motion and ended up damaging the screw. Oh well....
I like it, but i assume its a w.i.p. You can easily make some sort of hopper and so you don't have to throw the cans in one at a time. I wish we had made ours sensing.
Yes, I do!!! The reason is because I am the Pope of England (not to be confused with the pope Of Rome) and because I am the world's foremost authorative figure on "Can Crushers." These two titles were bestowed on me at the world's hollering contest in Spivey's Corner, NC when I almost won the world's championship Hollering Contest.
A freight train could transport one ton of freight over 436 miles using one gallon of gas. It is an efficient transport machinery. If you use it for the purpose of crushing cans, you will not be using it wisely and you will be wasting a lot of gas. Please do not use it to crush cans anymore.
Finally, you have been very rude to me. Please be respectful of me because I am your POPE. Thank you.
sorry for the rudeness part but i think the train driver could care less i put rocks on the track i only do this because the tracks are only 300 ft away from my house once again i apologize for the rudeness
