@WestAutoClub I have neither, just a big fan of them since I've owned 9 of them. I now have a 1970 pl521, a 2008 Ford Escape XLT 4x4, and a 1990 Chevrolet Silverado c1500 extended cab. All my rides have less than a hundred thousand miles on them, they're all insured, and I love my little SUV and two trucks. The Escape is my daily. Who knew that little 3.6L could have so much torque?
easy worth asking price car looks mint and easy 8-9k into getting the motor running proper alone, for anyone that doesn't know rb's are verrryyy expensive motors too work with, but treat you great aslong as you know what you are doing.
the motor with is a rb25 series 1 it looks like from an r33 gtst skyline will sell for about 2000-2500 from importers, plus about another $1,200 for that intake manifold, then add maintance parts witch can be a bitccccchhhhhhhh to track down but should be done before the motor goes in ie; waterpump, timing belt, idler, tensioner, clutch, t-stat, seals, and gasket's witch add up verryyyyyy fast, plus custom drive shaft and mounts, wiring as you are adding ALOTTTT switching from a carb'd motor
Ok for all of you idiots out there. This car was never for sale for $25000. It has a rb20det not an sr, rb25 or an rb26. This car was unfinished at the car show which is why it had the pvc. Personally I don't care for the original taillights. I think these look great but thats my opinion and you know what they say about opinions. The car is now in Guam. Thanks mattjordan816 for posting the car but next time get your facts straight!
@Blarbling the rea lights look to be the rear lighting piece off like an old model skyline and considering its got an RB26 in the engine bay mmmmm yeaaaa might get used to seeing just the tail lights
@letter3able actually a matching numbers and completely original 240z's have been seen to go for upwards of 90 grand in show car quality, much less modified
its an L28 twin turbo the shop i work for fits them to most z cars but they costing u over 10k alone for a pro fitting. if anyone wants to know more about z-cars tunning hit me up and il send u all the details ul need to get ur z car up to standards!!!!!!!
@TheRosscod Learn your engines buddy. The intake is on the passenger side and the exhaust is on the driver side on that engine in the video. No L28 was made that way, All of the L series engines were non-crossflow engines. L28s do not cost anywhere near 10k and can be bought and installed for around 2k. The engine in that datsun looks to be a RB30DET.
@andriafd The engine is actually a rb20det so obviously you don't know as much as you thought you did. By the way your other comment was pretty stupid to. 8k wouldn't touch this car. Learn your stuff before you correct people.
@ckell222 what i am curious about is whether the person who put the RB in the car, upgraded the brakes, the suspension, the steering and strengthened the frame? If all that was done then the car is worth possibly 25K but in all my time i have seen so many people do a rush job with swaps. what makes you think this car is worth 25 k? I am interested to know.
@andriafd The car was done correctly. Stripped all the way down to the last bolt (even took it out) and then built back. Big brake package all around no drums. Suspension is custom. Similiar to a 300zx. Everything was done correctly on this car interior and exterior. Nothing was overlooked.
@ckell222 I apologize then. 99% of the Zs i come across are done really poorly and then people ask ridiculous amounts of money for them. Sounds like this one was done very well. Thank you. I just don't want people to assume a car is worth something when in reality datsuns can be very cheap to buy, reliable and fun cars to own and drive.
@andriafd I agree! I am actually doing one for a guy right now that looks like they painted it with a roller and spray can. Luckily I will be able to save it before it gets too bad. It's getting a RB25DET and all the works. It's gonna be a bad little ride. I'm also doing a 260z as a personal project that's getting a RB26DETT.
@ckell222 I decided to go a slightly different root with my car. L28 with racing cam and other mods (modified su carbs), suspension, brakes, some other goodies....fun everyday car...looks perfectly stock and gets lots of looks. Makes about 250Hp rear wheels. It isn't as much of an animal as a 240z or 260z with a RB but it goes. I just love the sound of the L series engines too much go to a RB....I will leave that for the race car...lol
@RED280ZX It certainly isn't an SR20 LOL, but I don't think it's an RB26 either. Looks like a L series with an OS Giken twin cam head. VERY rare. I could be wrong though. That head doesn't have the lines of the RB26; those have a very distinct design to them.
i like alot but totally killed the awesome unique look with the rear imo i really like the stock body was born beautiful and just tiny adjustments make it look ten times more amazing like your z but not liking the elise rear lights on her just dont look nice but nice job on her :) she's 100% worth the money
assuming this is a 72; 3000-4000, add in paint and other restoration and we're talking about 10-12,500 for an enthusiast but a collector would have paid alot more if you hadn't replaced the whole rear of the car and added the 'sporty' stuff (doesn't need a wing dude, seriously)
@ficklefackle if you knew anything about these cars you would know that they are not like muscle cars.....nobody wants these cars as they came from the factory, these cars are all about modifications. The wing is a little exesive but there is no market for a "collecter" in Z cars. The few collecters that do exist are only intrested in fairlady Z's that come from Japan.
@JACOBMEN1234 Restored 240z stock goes for $23k. Research it. Nissan had experts restoring them and reselling them at one time, long after the production of the S30 Chassis (Which I think was either 80's, or late 90's/2000's).
@24okay you said it those restored stock 240z were done by Nissan experts at the factory. No 240z other then those should be worth more then 10k. Early Zs are only collector cars if the VIN number is very very low. Other then that it is a waste of money for an non collector car. You buy the car because you love it not to try and turn it around and sell it for a lot of money. For someone like this guy selling the car for 25k, I would offer him 8k. Car is way too personalized.

@kellsautorepair Who are you to say I don't know what i am talking about? The car is not worth the money you got for it because you butchered a low vin number car by putting in a RB and by changing the tail lights. Sure you might get more then 8k for it or what not but you took a car and personalized it...killing any value it had as being a low vin car. I can find many Datsuns in better condition, original with a pretty low vin for 8k....hell the car in my garage now i got for 4k.(show car)
@andriafd You can't find one in better condition then that one cause everything is new. New motor, tranny, brakes, suspension, paint, carpet, dash, seats ect. The reason why you paid 4k for yours is because there is nothing special about it. No one wants to drive a stock 240z. If the do then they haven't driven one like this. The car wasn't butchered just improved upon.
@kellsautorepair Lots of people drive stock 240z or slightly modified 240z. I have driven a heavily modified one too....240z with an RB26DETT making about 600Hp, frame strengthened, brakes, suspension, roll cage, etc. The car is fun either way. Nice work on the car and i am glad you did everything right and started from scratch. My car is special, L28 with racing cam, suspension, brakes, some other goodies....fun everyday car...looks perfectly stock and gets lots of looks.
This car is soo hot! When you see how people build their 240'z you just wanna go out and build one yourself. wish i had the time and space to get a project going
Well i like the first generation of Zs because of the styling.. the way the nose sticks way out in front and how the head lights and grill are desing but i have a MK3 Supra and Supras and Z are long time rivals =D
