I live on holly road, and it kinda sucks having to walk past it every day, makes our raod look like shit when really there are loads of lovely people who live here. This happened years ago and there is still scaffolding holding it up....IT'S A FUCKING JOKE!!!!! :P

what I mean to say is that they didn't desert it through choice, or through lack of love for it, there was simply not enough money to keep it open and they'd have loved to have continued to use it as a place of worship :)

Whilst it was still open, on Sundays there would be maybe 3-4 people there. So they closed the church through lack of use. Hope you finally understand.

I watched the fire from start to finish.. it was really upsetting and scary.. I hope the people who did this get what they deserve.

The fireman who nearly fell in the fire was so brave.. we were all clapping and crying after the big ladder thing he was on nearly fell over..

What a shame.. it cant have ment a lot to others.. but it did to some..

i spoke to a fireman & he sed it wz still owned by the church& that 3 11year old lads were responsible and that due2the severity of the fire it will be knocked dwn.

also, i feel for the poor fireman that was nearly thrown in the top of the fire due2 road melting, bless him. they all did a fantastic job well in2 the night. i jus hope it wont take them too much longer to dig the fire engine out

It was my local church too, I sang in the church choir there as a child. It's a very sad situation and an unfortunate loss to the town of a great landmark.

I, like most people in Retford, already know the lads responsible. What amazes me is that two-three days after the fire they are still riding their bikes around the town centre on a saturday afternoon causing even more havoc.

I could see the smoke travelling back from work as far as Ranby at quarter to six. All the passengers on the bus were looking out of the window and commenting on the plume of smoke going right up in the air. It's saddening to see it burn down, as I remember passing it most days when I lived nearby on the way to the shops.
