@survivingthenorth not really i was the first person to go out on the lake with my inflatable boat in southern ontario in late december so they should have it up north much earlier. the. ice has recent thawed and disappeared in the last few weeks but it frooze over in last few days

Man an inch? I went to do some trout fishing yesterday and I was shocked to find an inch - 1 1/4" inch of ice on the local lake! And that no where near held me, nor would I have even attempted to ice fish on it! Looks like a lot of fun, but no way I would gotten on that ice!
Iv had ice crack under me, and make all kinds of awesome poping and cracking noises while it was warming up but still about 3" thick, scared me off it it! lol.
Bet that water's awful cold. You guys are nuts! Wouldn't catch me out there if I was guaranteed a 10 lbs walleye! I have a mustang survival jacket and ice picks, but no way man.
