However, dont forget- the poor always win. They have nothing 2 loose and they have seen it all before!
@socialismorbarbarism Just perfect. How come the "coupists" (or at least the "anti-Zelaya) are 85% of the country? (that might include campesinos). @IceVallejo Yes Zelaya is not poor but his politics were progressive. @socialismorbarbarism What's progressive about the worst government Honduras has ever had? Honduras always had ties with other governments, the Socialist parties didn't really bring anything good to the country (some tractors that were never used and the most expensive fuel we have paid for). From Argentina,We watch he struggle of the Honduran People with great sympathy.Last week a demonstration was held at Buenos Aires city in support of Honduran Workers and Peasants.
The People of Argentina has the best wishes for the brave Honduran People!
For a Latin American Conference of all Parties that want o upport this struggle by all means possible!
Z'liar speaks of the Cuban teachers that would come to teach our illiterate population to read and write as a blessing. This program comes tied with indoctrination against "imperialism". He would've been able to bring in the indoctrinators anyways if he hadn't violated the law and got himself impeached. A significant part of his supporters are public system teachers that are constantly on strike, specially so after 06/28 impeachment. No wonder why we have such a poorly educated population.
Yes, those teachers on strike for a long time HAVEN'T been paid for a year or more(you cannot ask them to remain in their jobs if they don't GET the money they work for, RIGHT?).. Now they all strike against a dictator and it's their universal human right to do so. You should lecture yourself a bit in that regard.
And you should ALSO INFORM YOURSELF about indigenous and garifuna peoples having NEVER wanted to be part of the system, for they are independent communisties and cultures.
INDIGENOUS AND GARIFUNA PEOPLES don't need indoctrination, they have suffered the consequences of imperialism since 1492, it's the most stupid argument EVER to underestimate their own CONCIENCE about what his been done to them previously and these communities themselves functioning as independent ones, this is not a thing from now, it has ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THAT. the only ones indoctrinating are Catholics and the like destroying human patrimony in such cultures, underestimating their INTELLIGENCE
Impeached? Do you know it is a VIOLATION OF THE CONSTITUTION to get an impeachment without being HEARD and judged in TRIAL? This was exactly the crime the Honduran military admits to have done, since it is article 94.
Yeah, no wonder we have a poorly educated population having a NAZI CULTURE MINISTRY firing OUR FINEST INTELLECTUALS, amongst them HARVARD UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS, and people who have acquired financial support from governments in Copan, etc. HAVING A NAZI CULTURE MINISTER who wants to ban books, that according to her IGNORANT criteria leads to "revolutionary thought". I wonder what this ignorant abomination will do to Garcia Marquez' books in state libraries.. BURN THE WITCH! what a CAVEWOMAN.
Z'liar is lying when he says "he couldn't change the referendum law" which is "useless" as it is written according to him. HE WANTED TO INSTATE A NATIONAL CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY THAT WOULD ABOLISH CONGRESS AND THE SUPREME COURT AND CHANGE THE ENTIRE CONSTITUTION. He is lying because he knows very well he can legally modify this spefic article (referendum) which he is saying he can't. There is legal process for this which he could've initiated and it is Congress that approves the reform.
Man what kind of logic do you have. I thought the only kind of logic was common sense. Seriously he clearly wanted to change the constitution because it only benefits the rich. Things evolve for the better. Can you imagine blacks still being segragated or women not able to vote??Society would just be all f-ed up.The constitution has to be upgraded for the great, great, great majority, so stop hating. US is not the only nation to update and give more rights and search for more freedoms, you know?
My point is you CAN change the constitution. You don't need an NCA to do so, unless you have other plans in mind and don't want to be specific about what you want to change. You can change can the constitution except the articles indicated in article 374 and they have to be changed according to article 373. Maybe you did not understand what Zelaya said in the video. He said he couldn't change the referendum law and that is a lie.
to maintain their way of life. namely by enslaving the vast majority of their own people. It is in EVERY latin ameican country that this occurs. Apologists, like Icassco62, now that Zelaya represents the beginning of the end of that system.
Icasco fears it because he1) is part of that elit 2) benefits from the elite or 3) identifies with that elite. Whatever the case, Icasco, WELCOME TO THE FUTURE YOU UNDIGNIFIED COWARD.
sazzywoman, stinking communists? well let me see, the teachings of Christ have a lot more in common with communism than it ever had with capitalism which is all about dog eat dog and survival of the fittest and forget about others etc. ignorance is clearly a major theme in your limited intelligence.
The withdrawal of US aid would be a temporary setback. But, as alluded to by Jessica Villeda, if the interim administration buckles to unreasonable coercions and demands, Honduras will always be dependent upon foreign handouts, in lieu of foreign investments, which demand institutions underpinned by a sound political system, to minimise risk, whenever authority is transferred via democracy, to future administrations. Hugo Chavez and his regional lickspittles have destroyed their economies.
Charlie your hands are dripping blood, before you insult people by talking about "sound political systems", and then talk about Chavez, go learn history.
Secondly where is the US defense of democracy now? Oh wait, they don't give a fuck if fascist dictators destroy Latin America, because murdering and robbing people is "condusive to foreign investment"!
Okay, but this is why the overburden of moral confusion with regard to the US vis-à-vis your position, and which undermines my position, must be reduced via the democratic process, so that the likes of Peter Schiff and Rand Paul can gain seats in the Senate, in the 2010 midterms. But had people of virtue intervened in the US, decades ago, to the same effect as that of Roberto Micheletti and his team, in Honduras, the moral confusion which now causes so much distress, would be very much less.
I'm sorry but I don't see much 'moral confusion' here: the military deposed a democratically elected leader and installed a non elected general as new leader. Where is the moral confusion?
If Gen.Petraeus takes power and sends Obama to Canada saying he's a socialist would you say he was defending democracy and did a morally sound thing?
I don't think you would. And why do you accept this then? I'll tell you why, cuz they aren't Americans and nobody cares if they get brutalized by dictators.
The Supreme court ruled that Zelaya could not hold his referendum, and the army refused to distribute the ballot boxes. So Zelaya was exiled. Democracy unleashed, has always proved to be the road to tyranny, which might be avoided if voters refrain from the democracy of the zero-sum-game of what's mine is not yours, and observe the principles of the constitution. A complication for Gen. Patreaus, as per Sotomayor's appointment, is that the US Supreme court is not bound by the constitution.
Please get your fact straight before you start taking sides. Zelaya was arrested by court order. Micheletti, the interim President, was president of Congress (like Pelosi) and was the candidate in line according to our consitution. Do not judge us solely on the fact that Zelaya was sent out by force. You must look at all the facts. He was legally arrested and keeping him in detention was complitated matter because of supporting groups which pretend to ignore, like yourself, all his illegal acts.
China and the Soviet Union were as Marxist as Billy Graham was Christian. What about capitalism's death toll? The sort of deaths that include: starvation, violence for profit, slavery, refusal of health care, colonialism, business health and safety negligence, pollution, basically any deaths that were brought about by a profit motive?
If it looks like a troll, acts like a troll, and smells like a troll, its probably a troll or republican bigot. At least the troll isn't dumb enough to believe its own chatter.
From Argentinamy best wishes to the uprising of Honduran People. The coup of Micheletti will be crushed! For a conference of all the anti-imperialist forces of Latin America to support by all means the struggle of the Honduran Working Class!
Stay in Argentina with your Cristina. Don't you have enough problems over there? Did you know that Argentina was one of the riches countries in the world before -Eva Peron? Don't cry for us Argentina...
It's not their videos, it's all videos. Sometimes YouTube gets lagged when there are alot of people viewing videos. I notice the same thing ( I have a Cable modem and a new mac )
A direct participation of the people is a direct totalitarian from the government or entities. You cannot allow a centralized power to rule the masses or through individual consent in the name of "direct participation". This is why Democracy is a CANCER, it does not represent the People but of many people who has a direct planning or participation. It is against to what we call REPUBLIC. Republic means each individual NOT massive people who voted for a single goal. Dis president has no knowledge
VIVA MICHELETI. Thanks to him we are on our way to a democratic process... something that would not have happened with Zelaya. This is not about Zelaya or Micheleti. It is about democracy in Honduras. And you should get your facts straight. This "coup" was not to get Micheleti in power. Micheleti tryied many times to convince Zelaya not to proceed with his illegal referendum. But Zelaya has sold his soul to Chavez. He doesn't have the option to back down... even if he returned to Honduras.
One thing the Real News reported in an earlier video that I confirmed is that Micheletti and the rest of the Liberal Party voted to ratify both ALBA and PetroCaribe...the two agreements that they are using as evidence of Zelaya's membership in some international communist conspiracy with Chavez.
Chavez threatend to overthrow Micheleti immediately after he assumed power on 06/28. Zelaya and Micheleti used to be "buddies" being both leaders of the Liberal Party. Zelaya allied with Chavez and who knows what kind of "alliance" they have because Zelaya would not back down from holding his "referendum" even after the Supreme Court declared it illegal and Micheleti asked him not to go ahead with it.
F°ck your Mr. Zelaya!! we Dont want him in Honduras! NEVER AGAIN, he wanted to use we poor people to stay in power over his term.. why didn't he tried to change the constitution antil his term was almost up?? F°ck you zelaya!!!!!!!!!
The demonstrators supporting the coup are like the idiots who get duped by reactionaries anywhere - they support a system that gives them nothing and treats them like shit just because they've been taught to fear "communism". Therefore they end up condemning the same left-wing reforms that would actually empower them. Sad really.
The people supporting this coup are hypocrites and crazy. They bash Chavez but support a coup regime which has murdered, raped and disappeared protesters and put soldiers in TV stations and radio stations, I don't recall Chavez ever doing these things in Venezuela. Like with Pinochet, Somoza, the regimes of Brazil and Argentina in the 1970s, the counterrevolutionaries want dictators, as long as they are right-wing.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This is the problem ignorant people like you who think they know whats going on inside our country!
There is no killing or rape inside Honduras by the new goverment!
most of the protesters against the new government are foreign terrorist trying to destabilize our country!
When you look at the protesters against the new government you see people covering they faces and doing vandalism, In the other hand when you see the protesters against Zelaya there is no violence!
I wonder why? Maybe because they're at risk of being detained by el ejercito. And you, how do you know how to speak english? That is enough evidence to assume that you are not the majority but a minority of Hondurenos - the elite who want Zeleya out.
You are kidding me right? You just show me how ignorant you are!Just because I'm from Honduras i shouldn't be able to speak English? You don't know what you are talking about!
I was rise by my single mom she had to work her ass off to give me a good education!
Mean while the majority of the families here in Honduras were laying on their asses doing nothing for themselves!
And now that this president comes in trying to take from successful people and give it to the loser we should let him stay?
Please stop. We have already had listen to you fascists lie and lie for two months about what is obviously happening in the country. So Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, the Associated Press, Reuters etc. etc. are all paid off by Chavez? You people are nuts and are trying to justify an illegal coup. "Foreign terrorists"? please provide evidence, the resistance leaders killed by the Micheletti fascists were not foreigners.
You cannot ignore one side of information. You plainly focus on what happened on 06/28 ("coup") and a few days after. Completely ignore all legal violations by Zelaya before. Completely ignore what sort of person he is (probably because you don't know). The media has focused on the impeachment and events days after this as the government (same government except for the President) tried to restore order by controlling riots ("protests") which required curfews which were supported by the majority.
Its a shame that the people cannot have the president they want. Acording to a few, the president has to work for 6 millionaires (families) who do whatever they want with, but nothing for, 8+ million Hondurenos that live stepped on and block to prosperity all their lives. No wonder why we have such a poorly educated population.
lcasco62 2 years ago
Impeached??? how did he get impeached? if he would of been impeached he would be seating in a jail, and not at the UN making his case to the world.
INFANTRIA666 2 years ago 2
Yes, those teachers on strike for a long time HAVEN'T been paid for a year or more(you cannot ask them to remain in their jobs if they don't GET the money they work for, RIGHT?).. Now they all strike against a dictator and it's their universal human right to do so. You should lecture yourself a bit in that regard.
And you should ALSO INFORM YOURSELF about indigenous and garifuna peoples having NEVER wanted to be part of the system, for they are independent communisties and cultures.
libertits 2 years ago 2
INDIGENOUS AND GARIFUNA PEOPLES don't need indoctrination, they have suffered the consequences of imperialism since 1492, it's the most stupid argument EVER to underestimate their own CONCIENCE about what his been done to them previously and these communities themselves functioning as independent ones, this is not a thing from now, it has ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THAT. the only ones indoctrinating are Catholics and the like destroying human patrimony in such cultures, underestimating their INTELLIGENCE
libertits 2 years ago 2
Impeached? Do you know it is a VIOLATION OF THE CONSTITUTION to get an impeachment without being HEARD and judged in TRIAL? This was exactly the crime the Honduran military admits to have done, since it is article 94.
libertits 2 years ago 2

There is legal process for this which he could've initiated and it is Congress that approves the reform.
lcasco62 2 years ago
Man what kind of logic do you have. I thought the only kind of logic was common sense. Seriously he clearly wanted to change the constitution because it only benefits the rich. Things evolve for the better. Can you imagine blacks still being segragated or women not able to vote??Society would just be all f-ed up.The constitution has to be upgraded for the great, great, great majority, so stop hating. US is not the only nation to update and give more rights and search for more freedoms, you know?
neolestat13 2 years ago
My point is you CAN change the constitution. You don't need an NCA to do so, unless you have other plans in mind and don't want to be specific about what you want to change. You can change can the constitution except the articles indicated in article 374 and they have to be changed according to article 373. Maybe you did not understand what Zelaya said in the video. He said he couldn't change the referendum law and that is a lie.

A CLASSIC example of rich elitist fighting
to maintain their way of life. namely by enslaving the vast majority of their own people.

Hugo Chavez and his regional lickspittles have destroyed their economies.
charlessmyth 2 years ago
Charlie your hands are dripping blood, before you insult people by talking about "sound political systems", and then talk about Chavez, go learn history.
Secondly where is the US defense of democracy now? Oh wait, they don't give a fuck if fascist dictators destroy Latin America, because murdering and robbing people is "condusive to foreign investment"!
DonVoghano 2 years ago 2
Okay, but this is why the overburden of moral confusion with regard to the US vis-à-vis your position, and which undermines my position, must be reduced via the democratic process, so that the likes of Peter Schiff and Rand Paul can gain seats in the Senate, in the 2010 midterms. But had people of virtue intervened in the US, decades ago, to the same effect as that of Roberto Micheletti and his team, in Honduras, the moral confusion which now causes so much distress, would be very much less.
charlessmyth 2 years ago
I'm sorry but I don't see much 'moral confusion' here: the military deposed a democratically elected leader and installed a non elected general as new leader. Where is the moral confusion?
If Gen.Petraeus takes power and sends Obama to Canada saying he's a socialist would you say he was defending democracy and did a morally sound thing?
I don't think you would. And why do you accept this then? I'll tell you why, cuz they aren't Americans and nobody cares if they get brutalized by dictators.
DonVoghano 2 years ago
The Supreme court ruled that Zelaya could not hold his referendum, and the army refused to distribute the ballot boxes. So Zelaya was exiled. Democracy unleashed, has always proved to be the road to tyranny, which might be avoided if voters refrain from the democracy of the zero-sum-game of what's mine is not yours, and observe the principles of the constitution. A complication for Gen. Patreaus, as per Sotomayor's appointment, is that the US Supreme court is not bound by the constitution.
charlessmyth 2 years ago
Please get your fact straight before you start taking sides. Zelaya was arrested by court order. Micheletti, the interim President, was president of Congress (like Pelosi) and was the candidate in line according to our consitution. Do not judge us solely on the fact that Zelaya was sent out by force. You must look at all the facts. He was legally arrested and keeping him in detention was complitated matter because of supporting groups which pretend to ignore, like yourself, all his illegal acts.

Micheleti and Chavez are enemies?
kwillyou22 2 years ago
One thing the Real News reported in an earlier video that I confirmed is that Micheletti and the rest of the Liberal Party voted to ratify both ALBA and PetroCaribe...the two agreements that they are using as evidence of Zelaya's membership in some international communist conspiracy with Chavez.
theresponderful 2 years ago
Chavez threatend to overthrow Micheleti immediately after he assumed power on 06/28. Zelaya and Micheleti used to be "buddies" being both leaders of the Liberal Party. Zelaya allied with Chavez and who knows what kind of "alliance" they have because Zelaya would not back down from holding his "referendum" even after the Supreme Court declared it illegal and Micheleti asked him not to go ahead with it.

AndrewMann552 2 years ago 6
You cannot ignore one side of information. You plainly focus on what happened on 06/28 ("coup") and a few days after. Completely ignore all legal violations by Zelaya before. Completely ignore what sort of person he is (probably because you don't know). The media has focused on the impeachment and events days after this as the government (same government except for the President) tried to restore order by controlling riots ("protests") which required curfews which were supported by the majority.
