Our JRT loves tv too. She'll sit in front of the turned off tv and wait for it to be turned on. She has her favourite commercials and will run in from another room to watch if she hears one of them! She loves Animal Planet! oh yeah...and ANY Febreze commercials.

My Lab and JRT watch T.V when its almost bed time. They lay down staring at the T.V! They mostly like Its Me Or The Dog or American Idol.

My Jack's watch TV too... None of my other dog's ever did, but both of my Jack's have been TV fans... They especially like anything with a dog or cat in it, Chick McGee on TV from the Bob & Tom radio show, and America's Funniest Home Video's...!

My JRT watches TV too. He knows it's not real though, because it only holds his interest for a bit. Once he realized there's no tactile feedback, he was unimpressed. He does get more interested when he sees a dog on screen though. I'll tell you what though... he went APESHIT aggressive when he saw a Geico commercial with the caveman disco dancing. I thought he was going to slingshot into my tv hanging on the wall...

I think the 2d thing is a myth. Pretty sure they at least percieve the colour changes of the individual pixels. They might not see exactly what's going on (although i believe they do, judging by their reactions to certain type of content) they can at least see shapes and figures moving about. And that has a certain appeal anyway. Anyone been staring at a trippy cool screensaver? Same thing :)

I do believe they see what's on tv though, cause they can recognize people off photos. Also 2D
