I would think the VLT interferometer would be a more powerfull telescope than the thirty meter telescope?

Anyways, the VLT has finally linked all four 8 meter telescopes interferometricaly. Sounds exciting. ALMA is progressing very well also!

@tuzmor Just imagine a world in which the actual military expenses were used on scientific research. US spends more only on air conditioning for soldiers in Irak and Afghanistan (U$20 000 000 000) than the entire NASA budget.
