  • It makes for a great YouTube video you have to admit! I could not get my broom to stand any other time I tried it. At least it makes folks curious.

  • You southerners are easily fooled! It'll happen 365 days a year. No mysterious equinox thing at all.

  • It has nothing to do with the alignment of the planets. Lol. Its because the center of gravity is right above the edge it balances on, and the soft bristles spread out just enough to stable it so it can balance. People do this on halloween and say its the spirits of halloween. The planets aligning does cause a slight reduction of gravity but not enough to cause a broom to stand, if it was the gravity being effected the broom would be able to float.

  • Really, did you try it the other days of the year? I would put money on you still being able to balance it.

  • un true it will do it any day!!!

  • who would have thunk it

  • i did this today and it worked

  • Just did it, still in jax, fl june 21, 2011

  • yea it's pretty cool .......LOL freaks people out the first time you show them lol......Some people are easy to fool.....

  • You can stand up a broom on any day, regardless of the time of year or its north-south alignment. Try it tomorrow. Try it in two weeks. Try it in a month. Try it in three months. It'll work.

  • youtube "The Broom That Stands On Its Own" by SocialXp

It might shed some light on the occurance :P

  • Just this morning. Try it right now. Better hurry. Find the north to south line on your compass and then balance it. Try it. Won't last much longer.

  • Cool. when did you do this.
