awesome skill u have there. im just starting to get into this type of artwork and your vid is immensely helpful. a question though. will the leather u hammered down stay depressed or will it rise over time? is there some sort of finishing or fixing agent used to keep it pressed in firm or is the initial hammering enough? i'm worried that over time the pattern will work itself out of the design by it raising up.
@surfflyfish4striper if u goto ebay and look for a seller called stecksstore, they have a good beginner kit for $30 u.s. a very reasonable price for what u get. it comprises of all the tools used in this vid except for the maul hammer.
howdy my dad is a member in sass and is a member in this and we go there all the time this really helped me im doing a project on this so yea thanks alot

I'm trying to get a custom motorcycle seat. Is that something you could do if I sent you a pattern and seat? And money of course

@CalgarysAdamG - Sorry, we do not do custom leatherwork. We sell the leather supplies you would need for a custom seat.

What thickness of leather would be good to make into a journal and still be thick enough to do tooling on it?
