i feel so proud to be of Hong kong decent when i see our airport. Yet I feel extremely disgraced to have anything to do with Hong kong when I look at this society.
Why are there English subtitles when the narration is spoken in clear and concise English? If the video were in Cantonese then I could understand why they would have English subtitles.
@MrGaboy2010 They shut down Kai Tak because of the nose and they can reopen it because the constuction of a project is taking place and any how there are fare too much tall buildings now to land planes
ccp has more than 300000 internet propaganda dogs, its famous things (its call 五毛党 or 50cent army, etc), ccp`s more than 300000 guy is working everyday 24hours everywhere internet, they deceive their chinks and world people too, they are making fake comment everywhere internet, even youtube too, those ccp`s propaganda dog is try to operate pablic opinion, i can see so many those dogs in youtube, if you go any chinks video, most of chinks commentator is just one of 300000
i don't see how that small space of the airport can be able to support a third runway. there's only a little extra space left for some aircraft parking lots.
@Kckabout03 Wrong. Under the 3 runway option, reclamation will create lands for not only a 3rd runway, but 3 new concourses and over 50 new parking stands. Watch the video closely. You were talking about the 2 runway option where there'd be no reclamation.

Well, it was grand opened in 1998, indeed. But it had been built when the British controlled H.K.
Do you really think that it was built right after the British left and finished in 1998 for opening?? Such a huge construction can't be started and completed in just 1 year, right?? LOL
@KatiushaVN4 I never said the British didn't build it lol. I said it was built when Britian was still in control but China recovered HK in 1997 so the British didn't have a chance to use it themselves. I think you read my comment wrong, lolz.
@KatiushaVN4 This was the last great project carried out by us Brits before we left Hong Kong. A famous UK architect too.
To me,the airport is a confident statement that we knew how to govern HK in the interests of the people. China will be unwilling to admit that we administered Hong Kong and supervised its growth into a great world city, long before China's present development began. But it was a partnership between the British and the mostly Cantonese people of HK that made it so magnificent.
@lokking9273 Well, thanks. I lived in HK from 1972 to 1984 and really enjoyed working there. In those 12 years I had only good experiences with the local people. I noticed that the Cantonese (mostly) and English could easily be friends. Maybe the day will come when young people from HK and from UK can start a new friendship and enjoy new achievements together. But I just don't know.
Good luck selling that third runway to the environmentalists. It will all depend on the current environmental impact. I don't see how they go for it. Just look at Shanghai.
I would support the building of the 3rd even the 4th runway anyday anytime. It is so important for Hong Kong to sustain her dominant position in the region.
@trent8002003 - ever been to nyc? 10+ years and we still have not completed the expansion of one subway line. same situation with the freedom towers...10+ years and nothing to show for it.
@copa8 Yes I have. Love NYC, another super city like HK. But I agree with you, NYC could use more infrastructural buildup. JFK for instance is a subpar facility.
Seems that no body on this world care about environment anymore.
