I A/B'd the videos of the 50's strats with later 60's - 70's strats. The 50's all sound better in my opinion. I dont know if its the solid , no-cap maple necks, quality of the magnets/poles or what...but they sound spankier, clearer , more alive. If i ever win the lottery i know what my first purchases will be ; )

Oh and Iv'e had vintage guitars back in 74, not all of them were great or even good, which is why today it is difficult to find an unaltered guitar from the 70's, 60's or 50's ...

@JRDN058 i have a 94 fender strat in cream that i love to death but id take a good gibson les paul, i say good because every once in a while you find a shitty Gibson, and ive played some shitty Fenders. It all depends on the guitar itself not the logo on the headstock. Most of the shitty gibsons are the newer ones, not saying there all shity, but ive played several LP studios that were OK, but not what you would expect from a gibson
