vsync limits the frame rates of ur game to ur monitor's referesh rate.... dis is to make FPS constant on all types(high end and low end) of systems.... and the human eye can't detect much more den 60 FPS so it doesn't have any impact on performance..
do u think i can play crysis or crysis warhead on max settings with a intel core I7 920 and 2.66 GHz proccessor speed. 12GB DDR3 SDRAM. and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX285? graphics card or at least high settings ? or close ?
Your card is WAY too powerful for 1024x768. I suggest you get rid of that monitor right away and get a monitor at at LEAST 1680x1050 to unlock that card's full potential.
lol, if you guys actually played this game you would know that THIS PART OF THE MAP DOES LAGG, LIKE 20FPS LAG and a bit lower. I have 2 GTX 260's in SLI and Q6600 @ 3.2ghz, yes i know there is a little bottleneck with mine. And I do get the same results. But with most processors, unless you have an i7 which believe it or not does increase ur frames by about 15 due to the fact you can get that beastly 920 to 4.2ghz on air cooling + its a whole new architecture.
I bought it without finding this stuff out and now it lags really badly with all the setting on low, so could you tell me what i need to do to make it run better please? And my normal fps is 5.
processor is not all that you need. that processor is good, but you need a separate graphics card, integrated graphics (built into the motherboard) is not powerful enough.
you do know if i put an 100 fps movie in front of u and an 35fps movie you would most likely not notice the difference so why pay extra to get 80fps when your eyes wont recognize over 35fps
does this machine have page file turned off or turned on? My performance went up so much doing that. Occasionally it says im low on memory while playing. and I only play at maxed graphics settings, 2x AA at 1280x1024 with a radeon 4850 512mb, 4GB kingston hyper x 5-5-5-15, phenom 9600BE 2.3GHZ with tlb patch turned off.
I don't know. Never had any Geforce Cards, can't say about the power. Also, never had an i7 or more than 4 gigs of ram. Plus, its not only hardware that has an impact on gaming performance
im pritty sure you know that it would run fantasticly... you just wana show off. Oh how good can i play crysis this is my rig. *im soooo awsome* he says to himself.. I WANT YOUR COMPUTER MAN, I WANT IT BADDDD!!!!!!!!!!!! jellous
hmm does crysis warhead come with the sandbox mode? and also do they plan to do some recoding of crysis 1 anytime soon so it can be as playable as warhead? Has any1 heard?
No he shouldn't, trust me I have an almost identical rig, and I in fact get slightly lower fps due to a lower clock speed on my Q6600, its cos Crysis favours Nvidia cards over ATI ones.
well if fun doesn't like to be poked and poking isn't fun i guess that all the fun will go away and the poking will cease to exist..... now do u really want that to happen????? make your choice now Mr poker
im tryin to upgrade my pc im investing 1000 dollars tell me if it was worth it intel core2 q9300 quad nvidia 9800gtx2 and 750watt psu i already have vidta 64 500gb of memory and 6gb of ram
You wont get any FPS, because there isn't any X58 motherboard that would support only 2Gb's of Ram. It's tri channel, get at least 3, 1Gb sticks. Once you get it, overclock that 920 with the touch of a button and you can play Crysis at 1920 x1200 WITH AA and AF filtering.
Dude how much disk space this baby actually takes?? i know it says 16gb in the requirements.. but then again i have a 160gb Hard drive...so im a little short in it..
game really does look a little better than 1280x1024. Most of the time higher resolutions don't make much of a difference to me once you past the 1280x1024 or 1280x800 (widescreen) range, with with crysis you need the higher resolution to experience the technology.
So having a 64 bit OS doesn't lock you out of playing Warhead? I have a guy making me a machine similar to yours with 64 bit Vista (and that same Sapphire card) and I'm worried about not being able to play Warhead or other 32-bit games.
So, basically, it's still ok? I only went 64bit to get the 8GB of RAM I wanted.
Vsync decreases screen tearing by synchronizing game frames per second to monitor frames per second (if I'm not mistaking) which provides more calm clear image but at the cost of number of frames per second. So turning vsync off gives you a fps boost but also introduces (some) screen tearing. Vsync is an option under graphics settings in most games.
love the vid man. awsome finaly sum1 showin its true power at a high res. every1 tries to make it look bad by using a low res where they know it gets less fps so thanks for teh vid it was awsome 5 stars and a subscription!!!!!!
Now finished Warhead and into Stalker Clear Sky (also maxed out at 1920x1080 on the 4870x2) but really waiting for Fallout3 and Farcry2 :)
But on the card itself; indeed it's super. I've had like some Voodoo card, then Ati x800xt, then X1900XTX, then 2x HD3870 in Crossfire and all the time I thought f*ck it, spending lot of $ as early adopter and now I can max everything out ... (see directly below)
... and in a sense all those cards did to a degree, but the HD4870x2 exceeded my expectations. All former cards were an evolution while the HD4870x2 in my book is a revolution. I mean it plays Crysis maxed completely ok.
It's way more a step ahead then all previous cards compared to their former generation.
yah i agree completely every1 that hates ati makes it look bad at low res cause they know it only uses 1 core until at least at 1680.. they piss me off lol. again amazing vid and i am subscribed lol. they need to hurry the fuck up and release fall out 3 lol they have had gameplay vids for a year so stop taunting us and release it!!!!!! lol. farcry 2 is gonna be amazing!
yep, dx10, all on max settings, except AA, which is 2x. 4xAA doesn't reduce fps much, but I hardly see any difference on 1920x1080 resolution so keeping it at 2xAA.
Although I do think with the bigger number of enemies now you really need your suit tricks, while in original Crysis I rarely used sprint or power boxing.
In short it's way more action. But indeed I have yet to decide which one looks better, am thinking the orginal one. Warhead looks bit more cartoony
