John Haymes was MORE made for the role over Gerard. Gerard was a bore. The show lacked when John left. And Gerard had NO spark with Stacy. Her and John had real chemistry together.
John Haymes Newton had some really interesting ideas for what basically a very poor show. I actually prefer his Clark/Superboy to Gerard Christopher's, because the later actor's was basically a cartoon (he even looked ridiculous). I've seen all of season two and over 20 episodes of the rest of the series, so I have a balanced opinion of the two actors.
Also, Dean Cain does not suck and his interpretation of the character is better than both Superboys and Tom Welling put together.
This guy's flying technique is all wrong! Christopher Reeve and Tom Welling know how to fly the right way! (Oh, and Dean Cain and Brandon Routh suck!)
