Sweden’s entire population has equal access to health care services. The Swedish health care system is government-funded and heavily decentralized. The health care system in Sweden is financed primarily through taxes levied by county councils and municipalities.They regularly comes top or close to the top of worldwide healthcare rankings.

However, nowhere in the Bible or in any of Jesus' teachings is Charity defined as a government taking money from one person to give it to another person. All of these things are the antithesis of a free market and he served them all at the alter of greed. This speech reeks of hypocrisy. I am a Repub. & I respect the fact that some folks apparently think this is a good speech. He seems insincere to me. Overblown, over-dramatic phrases, and "code" words and phrases. Why can this man, who's supposed to be Majority Leader now, not offer some positive idea, or list of positive ideas, that WE -- both parties -- WE are going to seriously work to achieve, for the good of the people? Worked in state (rural) politics, 13 years, never saw anything this inarticulate & stupid.

This was an awesome speech. He was exactly correct. I don't want anyone else paying for my healthcare or deciding what it should be. I also cannot afford to be paying for everyone elses and neither can any one else. This will bankrupt us. So sorry so few understand basic economics. Trickle up poverty indeed.

Quite sad actually that in 2010 a speech on health care in one of the wealthiest nations on earth can still be ''historic''. And what makes it even worse is that universal health care, in other words taking care of each other, is tagged as ''socialism''. As if all of Europe is drenched in communism just because we are civilized enough to take care of the weak and the sick. Not to mention that in the end in the US health expenses per capita are higher and the results far worse.

I REPEAT, in Argentina we have free health care for EVERYONE no questions ask, and we are NOT socialist. In fact we never had a socialist goverment.
