AN AWESOME PASSENGER AIRCRAFT. I LOOK FOR DELTA TO REPLACE THE OLDER 767's WITH IT. INITIAL COST IS HIGH, BUT VERY ECONOMICAL TO OPERATE. AMERICAN MADE, NOT THAT EUROPEAN JUNK--AIRBUS !!
Delta won't replace the 767 with a 777. The 777 is a much larger aircraft. Delta will keep the 767s for a few more years, and then decide between the 787 and the A350. The 787 is closer in size to the 767 than the 777 is, so it's a better fit for a 767 replacement.
@pilotguy1223 I HAVE BEEN RETIRED DAL FOR 10 YEARS, SO TRY AS I MAY, I CAN'T KEEP UP WITH IT ALL. I FLEW ON A NW/DAL A320 THIS PAST SUMMER.
COMPARED TO BOEING IT SEEMED LIKE A YUGO. I'M HOPING THAT OUR AMERICAN AIRLINES BUY AMERICAN MADE BOEING. I HAVE STOCK IN BOEING AND HARLEY DAVIDSON AND THE WEAK ECONOMY IS HURTING BOTH. THE HARLEY WAS DOING VERY WELL UNTIL AN EMPLOYEE STRIKE. YOU ARE CORRECT ABOUT THE 777 REPLACING THE 767. THE LAST FIGURE I SAW, THE 777 WAS A $ 200 MILLION AIRCRAFT
Nicely designed aircraft - CRAPPY looking paint job. GAK! I hate the "White Whale" look. Delta used to have one of the coolest paint schemes out there.
Are you referring to the "Deltaflot" liveries? Personally, I think that a 777 in "Deltaflot" colors would look absolutely terrible. But one painted in the Adiemus-era paint scheme would be great!
Not sure what the "Deltaflot" or "Adiemus" paint schemes are - was refering to the older Blue and white schemes with the actual DELTA shape on the tail. IMHO, one of the best behind Capital Airlines "Red Eagle" and American Airlines "Red, White & Blue on Silver" scheme.
@superfreak19 If it had pax and baggage on board it wouldnt have been able to climb that fast anyway. Probably nearly empty of fuel since it was only going to SeaTac, gotta love those GE90s
Saint6671, I'd rather knock your pud into the ground. It seems there has to always be a troglodyte showing off their doltishness and boorishness on what otherwise would be an exciting site. It's too bad YouTube hasn't the cojones to permanently ban you.
I was a nav in a lightweight KC-135 tanker with water injection for a test that did this. It was a kick in the pants but I doubt as spectacular as this. At least a 45 degree climb out if not more. Looked like fun!
Paine Field is pretty close to me (Mill Creek). That was a steep climb. I love going over there to the Museum of Flight to watch planes take off. Amazing modern marvels! I don't like to fly at all because it doesn't feel natural at all but I have such respect for these transport vehicles. How can I get over my fear of flying (turbulence)? Any suggestions?
Not many airliner take off videos are as exciting as this one!! When brakes are released the aircraft seems to be eager to get the hell out of the floor!
Empty airplane and only flying 30mi from PAE to SEA, no surprise to see a climb-out like this. I saw N710DN on the First Flight at MWH Airport March 19, 2010 when it came in for a touch-and-go & a go-around.
cjg2k9, or it could be due to atc restrictions... either way he didn't just "realize it" he can follow the speed on his speed tape and adjust the pitch to a certain climb out speed
I used to live at the Naval housing complex...right between 34L/34R. Used to watch 47's and trip 7's do amazing climbouts on their way to Moses Lake...Empty, the 47's would seem to be a cruising altitude before they reached the other end of the runway!lol...especially if there were a good headwind!. Miss those days!
this is for sure a ferry flight! you can observe it the time it adds thrust and releases the brakes, the acceleration and the distance until rotation.
@koukoune25 No there are not passengers aboard, that was the delivery flight, so it was empty, that is why it used so little runway on takeoff, and was able to climb so steeply initially.
Man I wish I was on board... Especially to feel that kick ass sensation when the brakes come off :-)
