Ive never worked with a drill that long, and thin at the same time. Ive worked with very long inch and a half drills, so im not an expert but my guess would be carbide drills. Although at that leinght who knows how much that would cost per drill. LOL
if you look at the retract for that drill you will notice the withdraw, the table moves in coordination with the bit. Excellent pressure, and absolute perfect drill manufacturing tech. Coolant probably really helps as well.
3 years in the bizz, 2 years programming cnc, now mastercam x2 2d and 3d and Hurco 2d 3d programming and im only pushing 70 to 75 a year. But cant complain with only 2 years of programming under my belt and no degree. Ill complain in a few years LOL.
Naw, I live in a sub of Detroit. I migrated from LA due to high cost of living VS the desire to have my wife finish school. LOL Cost of living isnt the issue. I guess i just try to compare myself to my superiors (150k+) and some of them really arent worth there paycheck. I mean im 3 years in and some of these guys you would never know have like 15-20 years in. Sorry, just ranting. :P But like I said I cant complain too much.
I start working as a cnc programming when i was 16... I threw it out to study and become and engineer, now i don´t get some money working, cause engineering is in integral period hahah in Brazil, who works programming can´t get a good salary like that... well man, u have to study to become an engineer and creat some machines =)... that´s nice... c ya... good work there =) and good luck...
it's crazy in my area. A small town with about 100 CNC tooling shop... We're a mold maker and only have 2 3-axis CNC drill machine. An experienced engineer get paid only about US$20,000-30,000.
