Hello theevilbarron! It's CBFALL! You got a fantastic collection of picture vinyl records! What album is that one TOOL record with the body anatomy? Thanks and I enjoyed your channel a lot! Keep posting cool vinyl records!
I used to pick up alot of new ones at Virgin Record Mega Stores but the closed most of those down. I seem to find alot at music stores now. They are starting to carry them. Not sure where you live but around here there is a chain called Hastings that carries new vinyl releases.
@theevilbarron--Cool collection! I know what you mean. A lot of stores as such seem to be disappearing :-( Another store you could try for this sort of thing is Hot Topic.
@Interests2009 Hot Topics around here aren't carrying as much as they used to and they clearance alot which is good for me. I actually found another store here in north Texas yesterday that was carrying vinyl and it was a chain store, Movie Trading Company. I find more and more stores carrying them I just hope it stays that way.
@theevilbarron--Me too. I live on the east coast, and the same thing is to be said about Hot Topics in this part of the country too. Each HT I go into seems to have a different selection of things and layout. Best Buy is also beginning to carry more vinyl too. If I ever come to Texas, I'll be sure to check it out. Thanks!
where did you buy the brand new release vinyls? local independent record store or online? it's really hard to find independent record store in a small town? have one here but doesn't sell new release vinyls only old used vinyls.
What is an essential vinyl-only album that I should get? I'm very open to music, but I will say that 80's-90's emo, thrash metal, 80's hardcore punk, ska-core, 2toneska, (I hate to admit it....but) Nu Metal, crack rock steady, 90's Alternative Rock, Art Rock, Old School Hip Hop, Pop Music (The Smiths, David Bowie kind), and Gothic Rock are my personal favorites.
Honeslty an essential vinyl-only album.... thats hard because more essential albums are all on cd as well. With your interests.... in my oppinion id get: any Black Flag.. i say that because they still release all their stuff on vinyl....80-90's emo... find you fav cure or depeche mode album... wont be to hard. THEY HAD ALOT OF VINYL..... just get what you like.
I was considering grabbing Black Flag's Loose Nut or Family Man on vinyl. They seem like that kind of must have on vinyl band. Thanks.
What do you think of Black Flag's In My Head album? Its pretty controversial. The first time listening to it I thought it was crap and that Society's Tease, Drinking and Driving, Out Of This World were the only good songs. The album is old school metal riffs and heavy metal riffs together. I never gave it a chance to let it grow on me.
Well Damaged is always a classic. My first Black Flag album was "Slip it in", so im partial to that album. In my Head does have the metal riffs so I could see how it might not be something youd like.
Damaged, American Hardcore Soundtrack, Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death, and Mutiny On Bay were the first punk albums I ever had and I couldn't stop listening to them when I first got into punk. It was so aggressive and I never heard anything like it before. I'm fine with metal riffs but some of it just contains no effort such as I Can See You, It's All Up To You, and the other songs that just annoy me. My favorite Black Flag album is probably Live 84.
