This game was actually pretty good. It was playable by 3 players simultaneously. One controlled the guns, one the shield, and one the cobra. Most fun was with two players against the console controlled cobra. We liked it back then. Was kinda different.

You do one simple & short thing in this game. Your Bonus? Do it again with a snake that is a different color... and to think back then, some people had black & white TVs so they got screwed from that bonus(if it can be called that). Makes me remember that my first bedroom TV was B&W and when you turned it off, a little dot would stay in the middle of the screen for what seemed like several minutes before it would completely disappear.

Cobra Commander and Starscream were voiced by the same actor. Chris Latta was his name. He used to joke that he was a the leader of the bad guys on one show and second in command on another, like he wasn't good enough to be boss on both shows. Unfortunately he died back in the 90's.

Yeah, when I was six-seven or so I saw this game and thought it sucked then. I saw no one I recognized in it and couldn't believe it was a GI Joe game. there's a game from Activision for the Atari called "Commando" that had more GI Joe action than this crap did.

BTW. Nice memories you talked about. I remember knowing someone at a daycare I used to go to who used to have a bunch of figures and an awesome jet. I think it was my first memory of real jealousy XD

The GI Joe plane that you described, the one with the forward swept delta wing design was called the Conquest X40. My knowledge of aeronautics says such a plane could never fly. The way the wings are laid out, the forward thrust would tear them off.

The flag I believe was actually $150. Had same issue as the reveiwer. The parents wouldn't budge no matter how hard I tried. As there was no way in hell they were paying $150 for a piece of plastic. $150 in mid 80's money is what $300-400 today. No doubt most kids parents thought the same as if you recall every Hills I ever went two had the same two huge aircraft carrier boxes sitting unsold for years on the selves.

I still buy G.I. Joes to this day. Only the Valor Vs Venom and 80s remakes though. Spy Troops look way too animated and the 80s re-releases look so lame compared to the remakes.

I dont like "GIJOE Atlantis Factor" cos in the first game, GIJOE for NES, for example, when you jump, you can shoot to down, to up, , to left and to right, and the GIJOE Atlantis, you jump and you just only shoot in left or right direction. That is one of so much things that make me a think what this game was released for a commercial fact. Another thing about Atlantis, was the level 1 is so hard to complete. Bye!
