His vibrato at the end here never changed even years later. Actually his voice except for being darker of course stayed about the same when he died at only 49 years old.
His singing and voice is already in place and perfect due to his father who was a fine voice teacher and coach and another thing Jussi had a great Cadenza as good as anyones here except maybe Josef Schmidt in this aria. Actually Schmidt sang it also live the same year, also in 1937 at Carnegie hall .
extraordinaria voz y con el tiempo cada vez mas perfecta llego a ser el numero uno indiscutido. solo tuvo un defecto que aun hoy no le perdonan, era sueco y no Italiano.
Dear Jussi, he fumbles the second verse ("E sempre misero chi a lei s'affida"), singing a delightful mélange in glorious voice. He was 26 years old at the time. What a great singer!
Ah sure we'll let him away with that one! It didn't detract from his thread though. His live performances were something to behold. In fact his last US recital in Atlanta was out of this world. His artistry improved with age. Anna-Lisa Bjorling, in her book, said of her husband that he always sang a different rendition each time he went to sing a piece. This is a testament to the respect that Jussi had of his art. He always strove for more interpretation in his singing. A truly great singer.

Didnt he sang "Celeste Aida" and a Cavalleria duet too?
