Incardona is a good player too. Look at his profile, 20 years ago he looked just like Dick Tracey. Sammy Jones, husband of Loree Jones, had Incardona go to the Commanders room, an after hours gambling spot in San Antonio to beat the local hot shot, Jose Luis. It was like a carnival, bets going every which way. Jones was raising the bet after each game and when Incardona missed an easy shot, the bets went way up and Jones left with a Jelly Roll in his pocket.
Without too many specifics here is the game in a nutshell. Imagine the two corner pockets nearest the rack. Each corner pocket belongs to one of the two players. First player to make 8 balls in his pocket is the winner. It's a very difficult game to master. Sounds easy but there are a lot of safeties and banks and intentional fouls too. One pocket is like playing chess on the pool table. There are videos of Efren playing one pocket here on youtube. Efren is a master at one pocket.
sometimes i wish reyes would have a translator so that he could answer the technical questions better rather than saying that he got lucky. Its always like that when he gets interviewed in english. No doubt about his abilities and his character as a person.
Yeah, i would pay very good money to watch some of his very old big matches! and yes i heard he did play better back then, think he wouldnt quit until he ran 4 or 5 racks in a row off on rotation, in his inital training of each day. very inspiring person!

Yes,Efren is the magician,but even he hasnt got close to mosconis run of 526 in straight pool,and I dont think he ever will,so dont go so fast saying hes the best ever,Mosconi went 15 years undefeated,reyes is great,but the best ever?I dont think so.
I went to a big tournament in chicago about twenty years ago, they had 8 ball and 9 ball competitions. Reyes said he had never played 8 ball before but won the 8 ball tournament. He said he liked the game because there were lots of ways to play safe.

if im not mistaken he dosent have that 13$ cue anymore. i think his main cue now, though it does change often, is a custom judd fuller cue.
