It's great 'cause you speak both languages well and what you teach is actually very useful. But isn't a paper cup always to go? And it's pretty pointless to ask for a paper cup when you wanna stay there, unless you really despise the eco movement.
So my main question, will the barista ask both questions even though it's pointless? And do Korean people desire paper cups even when staying in? That'd be interesting to know.
^^ 암튼 감사 ^^ now I know what to ask and what to say.
Thanks for this video and all the others you make! I think I watched the earlier video that you mentioned right before I went to Korea last summer and the expressions turned out to be so useful!
perhaps you could slow it down just a bit. you do say it slowly after regular pace, but it's flashed on the screen so briefly, then it's off to the next phrase.
on another one you did, it was repeated a bit slower two or three times, which i found very useful, or just leave the hangeul on the screen longer before moving on.
ive learnt so many new words because of you and your videos, thankyou i greatly appreciate them and to be honest your my idol because im a language-lover as well =D
ill be coming to korea, yonsei university in feb so these words will definitely be put to good use xD keep up with the good work.
I was wondering on line trying to find a good Korean learning website, and this is the palce I ended up with! It's the coolest website I have ever seen, and thank you for uploading all the fatastic learning tips about Korean. Have a great trip in Austrialia!
@qiranger Hi Steve :) Actually 차잔 is a tea cup so they don't usually use the word 차잔 in a franchise coffee shop so it might depend on the coffee shop you go to, but in fact I've never seen anyone using the word 차잔 referring to a mug while serving at the counter in a coffee shop :)
Maybe because it's a small franchise (not a SB or CB&TL) they use that. I know the owner pretty well too... so perhaps she's being kind to my limited Korean vocabulary.
this was much clearer than the video last year. but u didn't review the receipt thing. i vaguely remember that from last year. it was a bit confusing.
your videos are great!! thanks!

Hi! I work at a coffee shop in Irvine, CA and the Koreans never understand when you ask if they want room for cream in their coffee.
How would I say this in Korean?
jdampeer 7 months ago
When you say cafe you sound like
you're saying it in spanish :)
Thanks for the video

It's interesting to know that they actually ask you if you'd like an actual mug or a paper cup.
They usually just automatically give you a paper cup if you you say you'd like it to go, and a mug if you're staying....
DisturbedAng3l 2 years ago
can you take it to go if it is a mug?
neraknerak1 2 years ago
probably not, because then you'd be walking away with the cafe's mug! :)
