If he was really worried about lefties like Romney and Gingrich, he would drop out, and endorse Ron Paul.
Ron Paul has a much larger following, and better funding, and a stronger record as a fiscal conservative, plus gay people don't hate him like they hate Santorum. Besides that, Santorum isn't even on the ballot in 5 states, for hundreds of delegates, he's completely unelectable.
