Steve Marriot had to be one of the greatest white soul singers ever. Never got to have big fame here in the US Had a kind of "cultish" following in the US similar to Wishbone Ash's, but not the tidal wave of success like the Who, Beatles, Tull or the Stones. Frampton carried the torch in the states for Steve Marriot and Small Faces music. Steve was a great guitarist and an incredible vocalist. One of about a dozen or so British artists who had major fame in England and abroad but not in the US.
Everyone do yourself a favor and research one of the greatest rock bands ever. Steve Marriots voice is the most powerful and unique in the history of rock. Robert Plant used to be a go-fer for this band. Thanks for the post.
