Small addendum to your comment on federal earmarks. While mayor of Wasilla, she garnered $27 million in earmarks. Using the estimated Wasilla population of 9,000, we have $3,000/person. Twistandcrawl, it's the Democrats who opposed offshore drilling and will only consider it if it's so far out (beyond 100 miles) that no oil will be found there. Producing our own oil would help our economy tremendously and lower the price of gasoline. Also, it's the Democrats who have direct ties to top executives in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and caused this current crisis. Quit blaming the Republicans! What???? According to CNN, "But Obama and McCain cast identical votes in the major congressional showdowns on the issue last year. Why does nobody realize that Obama and McCain both have the same voting record when it comes to immigration? So is the ad lying? No. But it is dirty to claim that your opponent does one thing to alienate an ethnic population, when you do the exact same thing. Dirty. Carl Rove tactics at work...
And if I hear about earmarks again, I'll burst. Obama's FEDERAL earmarks total about $68 per person for his state. Palin got state earmarks equal to $506 per person...and that's without her bridge.

Small addendum to your comment on federal earmarks. While mayor of Wasilla, she garnered $27 million in earmarks. Using the estimated Wasilla population of 9,000, we have $3,000/person. The funny thing is that if I had to chose between a mayor that could bring in revenues for my city or sit on his/her ass and do nothing, I'd chose the one who could bring in money, so kudos on being a good mayor. But it does hurt the country. So I think she's wonderful mayor, but she'd make an irresponsible VP.

Distort equally? Guess I haven't seen the same ads that you have, nor have I listened to the same interviews that you have. But I DO understand that we see what we want to see in the world. So if you are opposed to Obama already, you can't see things from another perspective. Maybe that's why I can't see that McCain is doing less distorting, because as a former Republican I have lost all respect for the man. He disgusts me the way he has abandoned all of his independent principles.

I am an independent. I will vote for McCain/Palin. McCain is not another third Bush term. McCain and Palin will straighten out Washington. I don't trust Obama. He changes every time the wind blows. He will not get anything done in Washington. The first mistake he made was not getting Hillary Clinton as his v/p. That shown that he did not show good judgement. He really will make a mess of America if he wins. The first most important decision that he made(pick a running mate) was a mistake.

Almost all whites hate Mexicans, so they both have to oppose it to a degree. But, on the other hand they've both been sympathetic to immigrants. The funny thing is that Mexicans don't hate Americans at all. They take care of their smelly, crying brats, they mow their lawns, they wait on them in restaurants, and they do it with a smile and warmth in their hearts. How are they repaid? Bigotry!

Look at the record on those bills. Bottom line is more democrats voted for it than against it. Democrats have a VERY slim majority, and some are still pretty conservative. McCain said he wouldn't vote for the bill until "the borders were secured." So he voted with Obama. For him to pretend otherwise is a LIE. He's acting shameful.

Yes, and when the minority party opposes legislation that they don't think they can defeat with a vote, they respond with a filibuster, as was the case here with the Republicans (who blocked this bill). McCain and Obama both voted to end the filibuster. I don't know why McCain thinks this means anything.
Perhaps congress's approval rating is so low because bills like this get blocked.

Oh yeah, it was McCain. Obama is for immigration reform (with some requirements like paying taxes, learning English, etc) and he is a co-sponsor of the DREAM Act and voted for it last year.
The McCain campaign is full of lies. Hopefully latinos see right through it.
