yes, that was very sad news and still is. he's been a hero of mine since first seeing jaws on t.v. back in 1987. as the years went on i discovered he was great in everything he did, such as french connection, still of the night, 52 pick up, and i can just keep on going. still hard to believe he's gone. r.i.p. roy.

...the french connection, the seven ups, marathon man, and that classic sardonic look of paralysis just before he needed a bigger boat . he had a disiplined, gritty, and naturalistic style...the camera loved him...and i honestly believed he couldnt kill that shark until he killed that shark. An actor's best compliment..is to be believed.

One of the reasons JAWS was such a great movie was because of the amazing acting and I'm convinced nobody could have played a better "Chief Brody" than Roy Schneider. RIP Roy "Chief" Schneider.
