i miss this ride but one collapsed in europe (axel or something went bust...in a place you couldn't see from the outside of the ride) so the company discontinued the ride and removed all of the rainbow rides for saftey reasons (20 from across the world i think), they got similar versions ali baba etc... not as much fun as the classic rainbow though

Wow that sucks... I would take the Rainbow over 1001 naghts any day, esp. when they run a good program like on this video. I think Huss recalled all the Rainbow rides after that incident in Euorpe. Which sucks I think they should of just looked at the issue and fixed it, thats if there was an issue.

Do a search on Google James E. Strates shows they do have a web site. I have been to the NYS Fair many times in my life. We use to show horses there. I go to the fair grounds every year and wait for the Strates train to arrive. I watch them unload the rides that travel on the train- amazing. I talk to the guys about different things. I can tell you more.

I know which ride you're talking about. The Grand Slammer (falling star) in fiesta village. It was one of my favorite rides at Knott's, from the first I rode it (back in september 1994) to the last time I rode it (september 2002)just before it was removed.
I totally agree with you, but I luv me sum HUSS flat rides. They offer several different programs and the ability to crank it up to the max. Most companys dont have that ability on there control panels. Nore can there rides handle being run on full blast all day. HUSS = a wounderfully built ride nice light packages and crazy power.

My opinion about this type of ride:
Rainbow- Fun and very nicely themed for this type of ride.
Falling Star- Perfectly themed for the movements of it and is always a classic.
Ali Baba- A simple, but something nice to have around ride.
1001 Nacht- A very fast and giant flying carpet ride with a wonderful design.
Nube- A very neat ride and experience.
