I think he's just found a nice cool spot and is trying to dig to make it cooler, my beagle used to lay in the shade and when his spot got too warm from his body heat he would dig away at it tl it was cool earth again and lay back down. That dog is clearly safe and happy in that tub, there are waaaaayyyy to many critics on you tube!! Use some common sense before ridiculing someones vid.

its not true that the dog is doing this and its old and brethless because my lab does exactly the same. hes 1 and a haf years and if we leave the bathroom door open he goes in himself and lays down in the bathtub. a dog is perfectly capable of standing up and jumping out of the bathtub. and if you knew anything then you would know that labradors love water and will take any chance they get to get in some. hes playing. get over it.

@MICKMYMICK1 i guess because little dogs are smaller and are intimidated by the water because thier so close to being underwater, big dogs dont have that worry because they are far from the surrface and know that if they want to get out they can P.S. some big dog breeds are made to swim such as having waterproof coats and long strong legs.

My lab does this too. She knows that this is where water is sometimes and is frustrated it isn't there now. She also does this when her baby pool is empty. There are lots of vids of labs 'digging for water' on youtube
