I think it was Artemis himself that appealed such a... different fanbase, consisting mostly of teenage girls finding the idea of a hot irish genius with a tendancy to be evil and go on amazing adventures involving non existant creatures, is why it's MEANT to be for 12 year old kids.

But we just like him for his boadeh :D

I'm sad that this series has to end. Whenever I finished one of the books and had to wait for the next one to sell in my country, I would feel like I've lost a friend and would re-read the books many times. It was thanks to Artemis Fowl that made me get into reading (which I hated before) and now I take high grades thanks to this amazing hobby. Thanks a lot, Eoin Colfer. I would also like to thank my teacher, of course. Without her, I would never have found out about this wonderful series. :)

Dear Fangirls, you DO realize that Holly is currently in her 80s. If you ask me, she MIGHT be a little too old for Artemis. Also, she's 3 feet tall; imagine a 25 year old Artemis having a midget for a wife... Also, she won't age the same way he does, like Turnball Root's wife, who was dying way earlier than him. As much as I want Artemis to have a happy ending (despite how much I HATE HATE HATE Holly), face it, it might never happen. Colfer himself stated in an interview that they were "Wrong".

I'm not exactly a shipper, but I honestly see nothing wrong with this. Remember, Holly is an elf. 80 years for an elf is very young. I bet if she was a human, she would be in her twenties. Another thing is, Artemis is physically 15~16 years, chronologically 18 years and mentally a matured person.

@Rocketai You're right about the age, but I actually meant physically, there might be a problem - as I stated in the comment. Artemis will age slower if he marries Holly, but she'll be 3 feet for the rest of her life and he's going to shoot up in height. That might be a little awkward. Not to mention, he'll look like a total pedophile, considering Elves/Pixies/etc. tend to look younger, despite how old they are.

He was in Toronto in September and I went to see him , which was awesome, but then, of course, I had to ask what the relationship between Holly and Artemis was going to be and he said that they were going to remain friends. He doesn't like inter-species relationships and Holly's a Hobbit compared to Artemis, and she's like three times his age.

So, unless he's trolling us (which I hope) they ain't getting together :D

I became a fan back in 6 grade by pure accident. i was at the store and they had a sale on books. my mom said i could pick ONE and i picked the one with the shiny blue cover (the eternity code) with no intention of really reading it. alas one day i was bored and opened the pages. I couldn't put it down and bought the rest and read them in order. These books inspired so much of my thinking and own novel writing. Thank you SO much Eoin for everything. :')

While I read the Atlantis Complex all the way through, the ending seemed somewhat rushed and abrupt. Hopefully Eoin Colfer has been saving his best ideas for the finale!

Honestly i think koboi continuing to be the villain is a little silly at times. Time paradox was "hijacked by ganon" and it just felt awkward. That said, sh is my favourite villain and the opal deception is my favourite book of all time. Hopefully this one will be better tha the last one because whe still enjoyable, it felt weaker than some of the others.
