This car has the ugliest instrument cluster I ever seen. I drove one today. the transmission had a lot of slippage. But it was more fun to drive than my Malibu.

The Chrysler 200 comes with a penstar 283 HP V6, and all the bells and whistles for a lot less. As far as resale value for the Fusion being less than Accord or Camry, who cares, if you plan on holding onto the car for a long time. The bottom line is test drive all these mid-size sedans before making a decision.
I have 2008 sel sport model with the moon and tune and it is a true champ! I am considering buying it out or getting another one. I have been very happy with this car and I will continue from now on to buy Ford products. I have had Olds, Pontiac, Cadillac, Ford, Pontiac, never Chevy, and Ford. Pretty good stuff, my supercharged GTP 05 was more powerful and I miss the silver bullet! Loaded Fusion is pretty fun.
I work in a Ford Service Department, we never see Fusions in the shop. My wife owns the older body style and has had 0 problems over the last 3 years. To bad we couldn't say that about are Lexus IS 250. Now that Ford sold off their Mazda stock what's going to happen to the Fusion since the platform is Mazda? Some of those Mazda tranny's Ford uses suck! HEY MAZDA QUIT MAKING TRANSMISIONS! You should have learned in the 80s with the F-150 Manual tranny's. Almost as bad as Toyota tranny's.
Don't buy this car. I have one. The interior door handles will break trapping you in the car. The six speed automatic has serious issues and may get you killed. Other than that I love the car, but door handles snapping off and automatic transmission that may strand you in the middle of an intersection with on coming traffic bearing down on you is simply unacceptable. Google it!
I would buy one of these. But, in my experience with Ford rental cars, I expect it to start falling apart at 50K miles. Maybe they make Ford's better then they used to though. My Honda's haven't started falling apart until after 120K miles.

I got a 2009 Fusion a year ago, and I still love it. Works great, and drives great. The only thing I dont really like is the head-rest, Its tilted forward for some reason.

I cant believe anticlock brakes are still only an option at Ford. Are they crazy its about to be 2011 modernize your cars! Antilock should be standard.
Stay away from these cars 2006-2010 - they are prone to rusting early and the 6 speed automatic transmissions are faulty and start to give out around 50 - 60 thousand miles. I have one still under warranty and Ford won't cover it because they said the tranny problem is due to rusting transmission cooler lines. Nice cop out. The rust isn't right through the metal so they won't cover it. Common places for rust are above the passenger windshield and rear left licence plate area.
Ive had my Fusion for about 4 months now. I still love it every time drive it.
I got mine in a suede white with a tan colored interior and love how it looks. It stays fairly quite even when on the highway. The ride is smooth and the steering is responsive.
The only real negative thing I have to say about it is that the head rest is not adjustable, so it took some getting used to. Fuel economy is so-so, but Im only 10 minutes from work. I re-fill every 2 weeks with $50.

Why build a brand new Chasis when Mazda has a great one already built... Anyway the next generation Fusion will be built by Ford Of Europe design and engineering... Ford Of Europe makes great cars and is the reason why Fords are in the top ten most car sales in Europe..

The Ford POS Hybrid has better MPG because its only a SULEV vehicle while the Camry is a AT-PZEV which means it still meets SULEV standard and goes beyond by having ZERO emissions from its fuel system. If Ford had to meet this standards it would be a different story for them. The Camry has more room inside more power more features and weights less and less expensive and more quality than than Ford can even dream about having. People need to start doing research instead of believing their ads.
Resale values are based on vehicular propaganda. It doesnt really matter whether the camry has good build quality or not, they already have the image.
I wish they would have gotten rid of the Taurus X and turned this into a wagon. Then I would buy it, but I don't like it as a sedan, and it should never be a coupe.
i think the woman doing this review "netted" herself some crack beforehand. 220 HP is pretty damn good for a car like this. I find it impossible to believe that it "labors on hills and during rapid acceleration." Unless, of course, she's comparing it to sports cars, which would just make her even more of a crackhead.
Yeah I agree, the fusion is fast as hell, I have seen quite a few v6 fusions piss on some v6 mustangs. They have more ass to them than what people think.
I got a 2008 Ford Fusion for my 16th birthday two years ago and I have absolutely loved it!!! The only problem that I have had with it is that it is really low and I live out in the country and one day I hit a hole in the road and it scrubbed and put a small dent in the front. But other than that I am completely satisfied with it.
My wife and I have been test driving a few different Fusions, 4cyls and V6's. I'm not sure how they can say that they're not very quick cars. That four cylinder has as much or more kick to it than the Honda's V6 and the Fusion's V6 got me up to 85mph before I was off the entrance ramp to the highway.

I have to say that the redesign for the Fusion looks a lot better than the older models. At first glance they might look the same, but the new front end on the 2010 models has a more aggressive look.
I have an '07 fusion L4 and its amazing to say the least. The engine doesn't whine like a toyota or honda and the car looks a lot nicer then other cars in it class. The best part though, is that unlike the cramped interior of a toyota or honda, the interior of the ford fusion is roomy and extremely comfortable. 5 stars
The accord is now* a full sized car. How much more room do you need? the engine noise isnt bad on the new ones either. Very quite and smooth gear transitioning.

If I was in the market for a fuel efficient sedan than I would certainly buy this car. I don't care what anyone says I like the design and the fuel economy is rock solid, I'm very impressed with Ford's current lineup.
Best looking midsized sedan out there IMO. I used to love Accords, but it's now bloated with excess. Camry? Nice car, but I wouldn't spend bigger bucks for an oversized Corolla that should go on a diet. And, the 2010 Fusion is even nicer yet! Gotta give it to Ford whether you like them or not...the Fusion rules.
this car is good when my family wants to get one that doesn't cost much. i don't really care about warranty since i usually get cars used. and for me it depends on, good fuel rate, comfortability, style, and easy to repair. ford was there first o well if it goes down least i know most pepboys and other repair shops cna handle the fords simple design.
Well the 2010 Fusion gets 23/34 in non hybrid mode which is better then the Camry, Accord, Malibu, Scion Xb, Nissan Versa anything you name it. And 2010 Fusion hybrid gets 41 mpg in the city which is better then the Smart car! The Fusion hybrid goes up to 47 miles per hour until it switches to the engine!

What about the 268hp Ford Fusion Sport, or the best in class Fusion Hybrid... or the 5-star crash test rating.. or the 12-speaker 300 watt stereo or the blind spot indicators or the heat seat option or rear-view cameras or the Microsoft Sync technology.. The Ford POS Hybrid has better MPG because its only a SULEV vehicle while the Camry is a AT-PZEV which means it still meets SULEV standard and goes beyond by having ZERO emissions from its fuel system. If Ford had to meet this standards it would be a different story for them. The Camry has more room inside more power more features and weights less and less expensive and more quality than than Ford can even dream about having. People need to start doing research instead of believing their ads.

i think the woman doing this review "netted" herself some crack beforehand. 220 HP is pretty damn good for a car like this. I find it impossible to believe that it "labors on hills and during rapid acceleration." Unless, of course, she's comparing it to sports cars, which would just make her even more of a crackhead.

I got a 2008 Ford Fusion for my 16th birthday two years ago and I have absolutely loved it!!! The only problem that I have had with it is that it is really low and I live out in the country and one day I hit a hole in the road and it scrubbed and put a small dent in the front. But other than that I am completely satisfied with it.

My wife and I have been test driving a few different Fusions, 4cyls and V6's. I'm not sure how they can say that they're not very quick cars. That four cylinder has as much or more kick to it than the Honda's V6 and the Fusion's V6 got me up to 85mph before I was off the entrance ramp to the highway.

Hey , as much i'm into the idea of keppeing my money here, Toyota builds good cars, but I agree that the Fusion can provide the same quality and fuel economy. I have one for the past 2 years and I love that car. But I did rent a Pontiac G6 last year and it wasn't bad at all either.

I rented an Impala after I was involved in a car wreck and the thing couldn't pass a gas station without the "low fuel level" light coming on. I have an '07 fusion L4 and its amazing to say the least. The engine doesn't whine like a toyota or honda and the car looks a lot nicer then other cars in it class. The best part though, is that unlike the cramped interior of a toyota or honda, the interior of the ford fusion is roomy and extremely comfortable. 5 stars

Best looking midsized sedan out there IMO. I used to love Accords, but it's now bloated with excess. Camry? Nice car, but I wouldn't spend bigger bucks for an oversized Corolla that should go on a diet. And, the 2010 Fusion is even nicer yet! Gotta give it to Ford whether you like them or not...the Fusion rules.

this car is good when my family wants to get one that doesn't cost much. i don't really care about warranty since i usually get cars used. and for me it depends on, good fuel rate, comfortability, style, and easy to repair. ford was there first o well if it goes down least i know most pepboys and other repair shops cna handle the fords simple design.

Well the 2010 Fusion gets 23/34 in non hybrid mode which is better then the Camry, Accord, Malibu, Scion Xb, Nissan Versa anything you name it. And 2010 Fusion hybrid gets 41 mpg in the city which is better then the Smart car! The Fusion hybrid goes up to 47 miles per hour until it switches to the engine!

To RickStylus: Ford has actually matched toyota in quality, furthermore the reason the big three are "struggling" is because of the UAW. The days of the 70's gass guzzlers are long gone. I have two GM cars with over 250k and one with 840,981 that's right over 3/4 million miles. Show me a toyota with that, that still gets 32 mpg on the motorway doing 85 mph. The only thing I've replaced is a water pump, tires, brakes, and batteries. Get your facts straight, and open a book on current events.
