@johnchapterseventeen The context is very important and so is a proper understanding of the verses. reading a verse on it's own without context and the social circumstances is not being subjective. I have other videos that deal with fighting if you want to watch and comment.

People often quote verses in the Quran about killing people and it annoys me because I know that if I look at the verse above it gives the exact opposite context. However verse 9:29 says to fight Jews + Christians and gives no condition. In fact if I read Ibn Kathir it explains that once the Pagans were defeated Allah told Muhammad to fight them.

So, what is the peaceful explanation for this verse?

So Badawi speaks out of both sides of his mouth. If auliya has a variety of meanings, then surely he must know when of the defitintions is friend/friendship. Therefore, to argue that istiqa is the word for friendship is silly and meaningless statement

but, how come there are still lots of conflits in islamic countries, that are lots of Molest, overbear, persecution towards christian, in Egypt and many islamic countries around the world,

why they abuse allah 's command , and why they dont listen to allah, allah want them to be friends with them not fight or persecued infidels,(others religions belivers ) them like it happening in Egypt and etc etc.

It's not surprising that you came here simply to post a comment without listening. You quote verse 5.51 and that is the very subject of this section of the lecture that was uploaded! As the channel host said, you have to keep these verses into context. Many of the ones people like you love to quote are recordings of the incidents that occurred between the prophet (PBUH) and the polytheists at that time.

It's just like if you're reading a book about the Civil War, and you come across a general's command that was recorded "Fire at all of the enemies until they're subdued." Or even reading an anecdote about a general's commands today in a certain war. That does not mean if the general is a military leader in my country that I simply heed his command & start firing at random people. You have to understand the context behind these ayat as there are lessons to be extracted

While 8:12 was revealed in the war.So whats wrong if Allah is saying during war in order to boost the moral of muslims that i will cast terror in the hearts of pagans of makkah
