  • What I wouldn't give to see Su and Jo dance to this, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessss.

  • Love Action - my favourite HL song :-)

  • Put this on at any party and it's guaranteed to get people dancing or reflecting back to the 80?s, the fade into love action is immense......worth the wait, nearly 10mins of perfection...

  • Probably one of the best music tracks ever - I thought it was only me but it seems I am not alone.................excellent

  • phil is sooo hot

  • BOUM BOUM BOUM BOUM BOUM BOUM

    FANTASTIC SONG OF 80'S

  • Hard Times? WOW-gets in your head & stays there a while but that's OK b/c THL are awesome, clever & unique, can't mistake their work for anyone else's. Good to hear again, when a lot of us on this side of the pond are REALLY having "Hard Times", at least this makes a little fun out of the matter.

  • This may sound weird but I can totally see this song on one of the 80's breakdancing movies, like Beat Street or Breakin'.

  • i have this one, hehehe

    used to test hi-fi

  • 5:00 ...a cat on acid!...or someone on acid listening to the cat! ha ha!

  • I lived and breathed The Human League....this is Amazing!!!! Thanks!

  • anybody know the words..? LMAO

i remember getting this album from a revolver (R.I.P) store when i used to buy 12" singles from either Human League or Duran Duran in the early 80's i got the black album later for other songs and guess what

    I STILL HAVE THEM ALL

i used to get £2 a week from my mother and then beg for 20p for my bus fare into town (10p each way as i used to go for kids prices lol) go to revolver get my 12" then run home and spend the rest of the saturday playing them

  • @MrBaggy69 i totally get that!!!! lol : )

  • thanks robbo mate, this was the daddy of that brilliant remix :)

  • just thhhhhhhaaaaaaaaanks xx

  • It now makes sense why the girls go HARD TIMES in Love action. This is a great mix, I love the entire thing.

  • memories of mid 80's

it's damage hard times as no video because it's the best song of human league

boom boom boom boom boom boom

  • Classic mix. How I used to dig this tune. Captivating music. Tight, tough, trance.

    Yowza !!!

  • Never heard this full length version before. I remember 'Hard Times' as the vinyl flip side to 'Love Action', brings back a lot of memories.

  • mitchtay99: Peace and respect to you and your Muslim brethren/sisthren. And thank you for sharing such a beautiful bit of history.

Other things happened in 1981, albeit a bit more secular:

    "Let's Groove Tonight"

    "Hey Nineteen"

    "De Do Do Do"

    "Fantastic Voyage"

    "Urgent"

Human League entered this environment, making their own mark.

    Mothra flies!

  • All these songs you mentioned are actually very fitting to my comment.

  • an excellent example of some of the best electronica dance tracks from H.L.!!! very good orginal transition from "hard times " to "love action" Both of these tracks were totally underplayed in the United States.

  • bopping again..i'm bopping again

  • Seattle's Sheikh Idriss Mosque, the first mosque in Seattle to be built as a mosque, and the first west of the Mississipi River to be of a Muslim archtecture design, was opened in 1981, the year this song came out and music like it topped the charts.

  • memories of mid 80's

it's damage hard times as no video because it's the best song of human league

boom boom boom boom boom boom

  • this is an excellent transition from hardtimes to love action! the best in early electronica dance tracks!!

  • If I didnt know better, I would have thought Phil Oakey in that picture wearing blue 00.54 was a tranny hooker!

    Great track, great memories.

Memories of music I mean...not tranny hookers!

  • Hahahahaha,are you sure I remember dancing to this with you,and no I was not a hooker......then.

  • Oh that was you was it? Were you a tranny though?

  • boom boom boom boom boom boom!

  • Probably one of the best house song of the 80's. Vive le Lime Light....Montréal

  • they dontcome much better folks

  • @garboalbion They certainly don't !! Martin Rushent created their sound and was, and remains, a god.

  • fantastic song

  • what you call mad synth lines, Sweet. :)

  • superb!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fab

  • makes me long for a time machine. Joanne and Susan...

Who the heck was martin Rushent? Aside from a freaking excellent producer, obviously/

human League was pretty cool but a little to insular, perhaps.

Oakey could have kicked ass. instead they just kicked butt. Not bad, but the potential was there to do more. What happened?

We still love this music, regardless.

  • driving down story rd those were the days san jose,ca

  • member this shit at the studio 47 bruh?

  • remember this was sped up when we cruised king and story

  • I miss those king and story days!!! 408

  • thanks for the class-ic stuff of music of modern times...thanks, love this! take me back there for real!

  • This Song is the best dance stuff from 80's! thanks a lot for sharing

  • Silvia? Mack or Quintinella? :-)

  • what?

  • absolute bloody brill track !! gets better with age ??

  • @redsboy38 It gets better and better. See, now people realize that today's music sucks. The oldies are forever goldies!

  • I always think the beginning of Love Action is a cat meeeooowing...

  • It is!

  • meow meow meow I love this!!

  • Me too and for me proved correct many a time when as soon my dog hears it he goes mad

  • this song is in a bergerac episode and i love it!!!

  • Who can't love Bergerac

  • i drink in the ''royal barge'' (the begerac pub)!!

  • This song would be perfect for a Pink Panther or Austin Powers movie

  • No double AA 12" ever compared to this or the album.

  • martin rushent may of been a bit of a beardy weardy, but he produced the very best stuff for them at this point-shame they did not play this last month as it is very apt now as it was back in 81!

  • MUY BUENO, FELICITACIONES Y SALUDOS, lUCIANO

  • the transition is so badass. loove the HL : )

  • my god they were awsome last night i cant beleave i have seen the human league after all these years

  • omg omg omg

i remember the time of roller skating at *la roulatheque* in 80's

  • I played the 12" vinyl version, till it wore out, even more then Human, especially before going out!

  • That bass still kicks serious arse to this day

  • love and dancing one of the greatest albums ever made

  • It makes me wonder if the Human League were the first artists to fade one track into the next, as they have done here....you hear it all the time now in the clubs and on Ibiza?Ministry of Sound/Creamfields CD's and stuff like that but you didn't hear it done in the early 80s...or at least I think you didn't!

Whatever, it's a brilliant song, Hard Times is so addictive!

  • Fantastic!*****

  • Eg kicken dit.........goede oude tijd!

  • So Good, so Good.

  • So very, very good

  • Oh Thankyou! I forgot about this one - how could I

  • Ah, memories..at the time my brother & I shared a joke, that whenever "Hard Times" was played, we'd say "I know all the words to this", & see who could say it first...lol

btw, ever heard anything by "The Men"? it was a pre-League band with Phil on vocals, only released one album, a friend had it, & it was pretty good from what I remember

  • great times , still got all the vinyl , all the albums and every 12" from the eighties even being boiled and dignity of labour , brilliant tunes & times.

  • What a great tune. Played this to death for the last 20 years. Used to park up the car, sit back and play this at full blast.

  • Poseur

  • Phil and The Girls...jammy sod! Great tune.

  • I had a different 12" of this. At the end of one of the four-bars ending diddle-diddle-diddle-diddle dee - dee dee, there was kind of a syncopated scratch mix whaddup whaddup whaddup, before the next four bars of diddle diddle etc. The vinyl got beaten up so I don't have it now. Pity.

  • my vinyl went into the skip by accident when i moved ten year ago still blaming the wife.one too many diddle dees i suspect!?!!!!!

  • The skip must be worth a million pounds :-)

  • Thanks for posting this!! I used to have this vinyl... don't know what ever happened, but it's gone.

Anybody knows if it's available in some compilation?

  • it is on the the league unlimited orchestra mix. which is available on cd . the cover is shown at the beginning of this vid

  • So was I, karl, so was I...
