  • I used to go and listen to these every weekend back when I was in high school and not even old enough to be in a bar. But back then it was easy to make a fake ID. They were all so talented, and loved to hear them play. We had a lot of fun back then, and will always remember those times. I asked them to play at our Senior Day (Ottawa High School), and they made our day the best time. I was so sorry to hear that Les had passed away, he always had a smile on his face, a great guy!! RIP. DeeDee

  • The Guy on teh far left is Darrell Data. I just recently played two gigs with him a casino in the Seattle area. He is a great musician and a really good guy as well. It was fun to see him in htis video. He has gotten a bit grayer since then but he has a fantastic voice and can really play the guitar as well. Thanks for posting this. go Darrell!

  • Wow, Amazing, I thought I was the only person that remembers these guys. I have both Lp,s Beautiful Music. Simpler and better times. Thankyou So Much for this.

  • Great old tune! It use to get airplay her in St. Louis in the 70's.

  • I remember seeing Buckacre in concert at St. Bede in the mid 70's. I was in Jr. high. Great band!!!! I'm glad I found them on youtube.

  • My favourite country/rock album of all time. This track and Dance Around the Campfire All Night the best tracks.Have had the vinyl album since about 1978 and a pity it is not available on CD.

  • Les's daughter is my aunt now!

  • Whatever happened to "Don't Be Blue Baby"? I think that was the name.

  • OMG!! I have not heard this song in almost 34 years!! It received substantial airplay in Nashville when I was a freshman year in college in the fall of 1976. What a great song and what great memories it brings back. I'm very sorry to hear of Les's passing, but it is wonderful to hear this song again after so many years. Thanks for sharing this!

  • I just found out this past weekend that Les had passed. A great guy! I had the pleasure of knowing him through our wives in the Illinois Valley many many years ago.

I am very sorry to hear of this. I remember seeing Buckacre in Spring Valley back when bands like Jeb Stewart were roaming aroung the area.

A great time for music from the area.

  • RIP Les. We will miss you.

  • Matski1955070455, Thanks for the video and for the memories.

REST IN PEACE LES ! YOU WILL BE MISSED

  • My cousin Lester had a great career in music. He was a great family man and a great person. Les and his bandmates recorded this song and others with legendary producer Glyn Johns, Les and company toured the country with the Hager Twins...but he and his buds always came back and rocked the bars in LaSalle County and loved it. Thanks for the music Les...rest well.

  • The tears are almost blurring the pics of my friends but not quite-love you all and will always miss Les who was a prince.

  • Love may not last forever but these great memories sure do-hope I will always remember these guys. Made my life what it is.

  • Les gave me this Video on a Dvd, and I wanted it to be a tribute to all of Buckacre. I hope I didn't hurt anyones feelings by putting this on YouTube, but I thought that there were people; out of the area that might appreciate the local talent that used to fill our Hearts with the Greatest Band of the Valley!!!! Les always Last Forever!!!!!!

  • Go Yankees!!!! Thanks for letting me post this Video!!!!!

  • RIP Les Lockridge...

  • Wow. Thanks for posting that. Sure brought back great memories of the C-Bar. Rest in peace, Lester Buckaroo.

    5 stars.

  • Great song. My dad told me he used to listen to Buckacre in high school. Does anyone know the chords to this song?

  • Les......YOU ROCK !

God Bless you and my prayers are with you! Eakas Associates MISS you!!!!

  • Great song, beautiful vocals, first class production

I am proud to have toured with Buckacre and to have appeared on the eponymous second album, playing keyboards and singing

Lots of great memories from that time in my life -- long may you run :o)

  • I was in a band called Longshot with both Dick Hally and Les. Besides being an excellent guitarest and singer, Les was a HUGE ball of energy. You could not go on stage without being motivated by Les. My prayers are with Les and his family and, along with the rest of the galaxy will be at the May 9th benefit...John

  • Les Lockridge is my dad's first cousin which would make him my second. It's great to have a video online which shows him doing what he loves. Whenever my Dad runs into Dick Verucchi at the store they can talk for hours. Major props to Dick Hally and Alan Thacker too...along with Darrell Data. These guys made great music. Les and his group have inspired me for the better part of ten years to pursue radio and voice-over work. Hope everyone can attend his benefit.

    Jeff Lockridge

  • And Steve Sharp too.

  • To all concerned:::

Les has fallen on some health issues. A benefit is scheduled next month. The entire freckin galaxy should be there. Maybe Jimmy, Janis and Elvis. And bring a boatload of dead presidents.

  • Outstanding. LaSalle area never ceases to amaze me with it's talent.

    Thanks BUCKACRE!

  • the good ol' days

  • I saw these guys open for the Outlaws at the USF soccer field--very tight band.

I saw them later minus Les Lockridge in a bar in St. Pete. Alan Thacker is a very underated guitarist. He could get a great Leslie/organ sound on a tune i can't remember.

  • Jeez, I'll guess I'll chip in too. I used work for them too. Loved the music. fond memories. Maid-rite hamburgers, and Ill. nights...

    boy oh what a time.

  • Les Lockridge is the best. He's my uncle. I remember going to listen to the band with my Mom and dancing the nite away. Was a great time. He's a very wonderful and talented musician. I listen to the album everyday.

    I LOVE YOU UNCLE BUBBY!!!!

  • Les Lockridge, the one singing, is my brother and a great person. He is a very dedicated musician. It is just too bad that this band couldn't have stayed together and really went places. Guess it wasn't in the cards for that to happen.

  • This really brings back memories. I used to roadie for Buckacre around 1976 for around 6 months or so (it was a long time ago! ;). In fact, I think I was there at the time they filmed this video. I believe it was filmed at the Roxy in L.A. We were out there doing a showcase for MCA records at the time. I remember helping Joe Cocker leave the showcase that night after he had WAY too many. Awesome times!

  • o, what a treat! haven't seen these guys in over 30 years. they used to play at circus in spring valley allll the time. i spent many many weekends there from 1975 to 1977. saw 'em a few times at peoria venues, too. i wish "morning comes" was on cd... i'd buy it in a heartbeat!! i already have "crossing paths" but it's just not the same. awesome band!

  • I could send You the Audio files from Morning Comes If you want, let me know!!

  • @Matski1955070455

  • They also played in Tampa, FL. At least once at Univ. of South Florida and a a small pub - "The Peanut Gallery"...I still have two vinyl albums.

  • And at The Depot in North Tampa

  • And at Papa Joe's North

  • I used to work for The Jerks (Al Thacker and Dick Verucchi) back in 1980-1981.

You can find this song on the CD Crossing Paths.

  • Do anyone know how I can get this CD in Japan ? I tried iTunes music store via online, but it was not there.

  • I don't think that there was a CD made of their albums - I do have all the sound files on my hard drive if u wan't to get back to with me we can figure a way i can get them to you

  • Hey, I was just surfin' for info. about Buckacre and found your reply to artofnoise1 about having Buckacre's sound files on your hard drive. I'd love to have them if possible.
