  • i work for the slide oem, overhauling these, there filled with nitrogen and co2, up to about 3500psi depending on the unit, and the venturi your talking about is called an aspirator,.. i am such a geek.

  • well, the cylinders are filled to 3500psi approx. the slide pressure after deployment should be between 2.5-3.0psi depending on the unit, boeing units are fitted with relief valves where as airbus models aren`t so their final pressures are higher.

  • Cool, Nice to hear an input from somebody who knows. Is there many different variations of size and design of slide? And have you ever had these back for analysis after real life emergency operation?

  • good time

  • Boeing 737-500, G-GFFF cn 24754/1868 (for anyone who likes to know the tail numbers) taken at British Airways Glasgow :-)

  • This is a 777 right?

  • That is a 737.

  • When a slide opens on an airplane, do you just fold it bcak up, and wait until it's used again?

  • thats pretty fast.

  • yea, i used to work on 737-200's and they seemed to take forever. but these have pretty good venturi's on them compared to the old grouch
