  • poor Shirley Temple she must of been crushed .

  • great because he was not only talented but a humble man.

  • I can't imagine how Shirley Temple might of felt during this time

  • The list of the Pallbearers says it all - though you probably have to be a bit of an old bugger to appreciate it!!!

  • mr bojangles was a star...even my mexican grandmother morned his loss. it is not a color issue but one of the best entertainers gone. get over yourselves

  • How sad :o(

  • Was BoJangles the greatest ? Even better than Fred astare and Gene Kelly ?

  • @truthhitmanisback hell yeah! I am a tap dancer and in my dance school, we treat him like a god :)

  • YEP! A WHOLE LOT BETTER THAN THOSE TWO! NOT SELLING THEM SHORT BY ANY MEANS. IT'S KIND OF LIKE THE BASEBALL THING! THOUGH HANK AARON'S BATTING RECORD SPEAKS FOR ITSELF, PEOPLE STILL THINK THAT BABE RUTH WAS BETTER! PIGMENTATION IS WHAT THAT IS ALL ABOUT!

  • This is so sad..........when I saw vintage film of him dancing I didn't want to think about him really not being here.....he always seems so alive.......and I really admire him.

  • the body dies the soul gos on for ever

  • Oh my god, this is so sad :(

    RIP, dear.

  • this man is the best tap dancer in the world!! i wanted to be a tap dancer after seein him when i was a kid but i never got the chance..i may start tapping soon

  • Shirley Temple said she adored him.

  • What a wonderful entertainer he was.

  • It was a wonderful funeral. Not seen for African American folks back then. I wonder why, in those last years of his life, no one, not even all those Hollywood people who attended his funeral, ever reached out to help him? Redd Foxx was all alone too. Give me a humble funeral, and honor me in life with the dignity a fellow human being deserves. That's all.

  • @eyhehashereyheh I think it was probably because Blacks and Whites didn't intermingle in Hollywood the way people do today. Different world.

  • best tap dancer hands down

  • I'm proud to say that I always treated black people like equals, even though my roots are in the South. People are pretty much people, if you omit some you only limit your propects. Bojangles said it perfectly and he was loved by all, because he loved. Bless you Mr. Bo! We all enjoyed every moment that you were with us and hold fond memories forever!

  • Respect to a legend

  • rip mr billl thanxs for showing the world class under such barriers that you faced ...

  • A Legend NO ONE will EVER replace!!!

    RIP Mr. Bojangles! :)

  • Bill Bojangles, Sammy Davis Jr., James Brown, Michael Jackson, all considered to be the greatest entertainers of their time and generation. All are dead now. We should celebrate them and appreciate them. Young people watch and know your history. No that many people have made sacrifices and have paved the way for you. Do not take anything for granted or think it is owed to you. All the greats were at his funeral and carried his casket. What a tribute. Thanks for the post.

  • What a sad end for a talented, creative and caring gentleman.

When this man died 70 years ago..Ms.Shirley Temple must

have cried her eyes out(Crying)I'm crying at the thought that

he's still gone..Thanks for songs and dance Bill And God

    Bless You Dear Sir!

  • @143AC I saw a video somewhere of Shirley Temple at the funeral and you're right...she was, literally, bawling.

  • have you got it anywhere?

  • @cheekymonkey3np No and I can't remember where I even saw it...but I will never forget her face. She was crying and didn't care who saw her. If I find it I'll send it on.

  • this entertainer wil be truley missed by many afro americans he was part of the movement in my eyes rest in peace mr bojangles the struggle continues.

  • Rest In Peace , Mr. Bill " Bojangles " Robinson

  • Rest in peace, Mr. Robinson...

  • wow. Amazing.

  • he really is a great dancer the best of all time

  • I have obtained a 160 pound Bronze statue of Bojangles and it appears to be Bronze and have heard it came from new york and was made in the 1940's. Anyone know where This may have came from or any history on it? He is about 4.5 feet tall and is sitting on a log with his cain and smoking a cigarette

  • I don't know but for someone to make it, It was a sign of great respect and memory. Perhaps we people have forgotten those who stepped before us in just a few generations...Whatever you do please respect this the utmost...perhaps a museum of respect which would show it to the public along with a history realting it to the present would make it most useful..thanks for buying it and caring.

  • when did he die? rasicm suks (thanks bill, he led the end of rasicm)Amen,R>I>P

  • November 25, 1949

  • AWSOME!!!♥♥♥

  • Artists today could learn a great deal from the beloved Mr. "Bojangles" Robinson. He was one of a kind... and even after almost 60 years, he is still in our hearts where music never ends...

  • A great artist and a great human being...A great human being sees the individual not the society. All the greats came to pay their respects...Wish I coulda met him but am grateful for film and recordings to share his gift.

  • A lot of so called rap "artists" would be discraced to be compared to such a man who never bowed to narrow minded fools ,he's up there with Ali and all the other visionarys,we are humbled that you were here at all, such a great man.

  • Most of these so-called rap 'artists' are a disgrace in and of themselves, pimps, drug-dealers and glorified criminals. What happened to the great Black musical heritage of the U.S.? Anyway we always have the memories.

  • Ironic,..In Mr. robinson's day, african-americans(negroes) entertainers were treated like they were less than human at many of the towns and venues they performed in and yet they withstood the insults and disrespect with grace and humility..but many of todays so called entertainers (especially the so called "artists" of gangsta rap) ACT less than human but are given accolades as if they are raising the bar..when all they do is lower the bar for those youth that don't know any better..its a shame

  • Could not have put it better myself, keybobrob, so true.

  • Todays "artists" have no talent! It is all pyrotechnics!

  • @keybobrob I second that.

  • @keybobrob This is so true.........

  • Are you referring to Muhammad Ali, the boxer - aka Cassius Clay? If so, he's not "up there". He's still with us, though battling Parkinson's disease.

  • what a dancer! He created the image of a great entertainer!

  • Amen!

  • it ain't black, it ain't white

    - it's just right

we should bow our heads to those who blazed the trail before us - please live up to their legacy

  • great tribute to the artist. thank you mate. I hope many people will see how an artist should be respected.
