  • Did you say anything that meant anything? Just what are you trying to say to people? Bla, Bla, Bla, that's all I heard. Try again and say something!

  • I don't need to: you need to turn up your hearing aid!

  • Have you seen my "Get the Drill Out" vid in here? Just channel me and hit most viewed. It is right after the black hole in google earth ones.

Now that person that put up "Drill Baby Drill" has a double entendre possibly.

Alaska has much of the world's fresh water. They want to build a pipeline from here to California. That is cool with us. It was called the "Hickel Garden Hose" in the early 90's. If you believe in a all knowing God you would have to believe He got it right on fossil fuels.

  • On the whole "children are precious" issue, i tend to think that a more correct statement for most people would be "my children are precious", there are some 28,000 children die worldwide everyday on this planet from poverty, famine, disease etc that's Ten million, two hundred and twenty thousand a year or thereabouts, not that precious to be letting so many die each year, by the time you turn 60 Gerkins, that will be twice the population of the states, dead children in your lifetime.

  • That is the problem with the Republician view. They don't want to take care of that part of the equation. So the Democracts simplify it to choice, when it is not that simple. I am actually a geriatric sparten. When there is not enough, it is to the ice patch. I would volunteer to go rather than not see a child have a chance. But that is me. I do believe in adoption, but I could not do it again at this point. I guess the death you describe above is a result of lack of resource application.

  • By "Boner" I meant metaphorical and not physical, that is to say, you have an outsized loyalty merely because she is the boss of your state.

  • Actually she is doing things so I don't have to worry about them. Believe me there are a lot of men in their 40's that wish they had here up here. Her beauty comes from living in an area of clean air, plentiful fish like salmon, exercise.

Her intellect comes from persperation more than inspiration, though she may not know that.

  • Efficient and clean hydrogen cars and power stations, along with wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal are obviously what is going to power mankind over the long term, perhaps one day cold fusion as well. Alaska promotes coal, gas and oil because it has plenty (for now) but you must agree that is not a long term solution for man as a species.

  • You are right. The best would be NO POLLUTION OR ANY SORT. We hate pollution. I lived on a geothermal ranch once. But we need the grid.

In Alaska one thinks big. An Alaskan project would be to take Bucky Fuller's idea and put the Transcontinental grid so that when the lights are needed in Europe and Asia the sun is shining in Chile. We need a storage of electrity. An inefficient way is pump water uphill so when you need the energy you open the floodgates and run the generator.

  • As for energy, there is nothing that shows more ignorance to me at least, than a person holding up a placard emblazoned with the words "Drill, Baby Drill", that just shows a shortsighted narrow view of the future. Fossil fuels take millions of years to become what they are and we use them way faster than they are being replaced. Oil and natural gas, and clean coal are at best a stop gap, what is the most abundant thing that we have? Water!!

  • to serve in the position she seeks, to be honest I think McCain has done her a disservice and she has decided to play the hand as best she can. I'm not saying I think she is a bad person, but I think she is in over her head, and that's just a realistic outlook. (Paraphrase) Have you traveled outside of America before this campaign?.. I've been to Canada and Mexico Charley.. when someone repeats a name over and over like that, they are psychologically reaching out to grasp for a hand, for help.

  • I understand the name repeating and you may be right but will be shortlived. She will review that tape and see it and make the proper correction.

You are going to see a woman grow and grow so by the time of the election, she will have coattales.

  • why he picked her, McCain doesn't envisage himself dropping down dead if he gets elected, so he picked who he thought would be best to stir the base and get the votes in, it had nothing to do with her being eminently qualified to run a country like the USA (paraphrase) What do you think of the Bush doctrine?.. His world view?.. I expected her next words to be "throw me a line Charley, I'm drowning" I mean be real man, I am sure she is a very nice person, I am equally sure she is not qualified

  • I really believe that McCain picked Sarah because he sees himself in her. He knows she is not perfect. It has not been said, but they may have had to elope because they had too, but who cares. That to me is commitment to the child. Both my kids have done that. I do not judge because those children as so special. Because they had to get married is not the goal but a consequence. The human life is the goal. Now the problem I have with Republicans and Abortion. Let me address that next.

  • What it all boils down to mate, is simple, you have a boner for Palin because she is your states Gov., simple as that. Can you with your hand on your heart take a good look at every elected republican in both houses and say without so much as a flinch, that she is by far and wide the most qualified candidate McCain could have picked from all those people? She is a gun totin', church choir preachin', make a raped woman keep a baby legislating machine to stir up the base. McCain knew this thats

  • Actually I don't have a boner for her. She is happily married to "Her guy".

I can honestly tell you that she is the most qualified Republican canidate for the job. Qualification means the ability to lead in tough places. To have leaders you have to have followers. She is ralling up the base in her party. I am not Republican. I am "U".

She is a very quick study. Will not allow others to do the wrong thing, even though she will make mistakes. She knows what it takes to win and lead.

  • Best source of info is adn (dot) commonly used. (That is code to get by the code masters) stay on that site and search within it, not google search. You can find letters to the editor, etc and you get a better picture. Both she or I are nuts; but at least I know it.

  • And lastly, Arthur is indeed a Cornish thing, Arthur was king of Logres (old England), the UK consists of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. And it is true that the Cornish are Celts, but dont think Scots when you think Celts in this case. And as for the disliking women thing, I love women, I married one. I just dont think Palin is ready. But in any case GOP men don't like women, Haggard and Foley to name but 2, of course one can always pick up a casual partner at an airport toilet!!

  • I guess the difference is that your side tends to hit us in the face with your bibles and preach your high morals to us, then go and look for a butt pokin' in an airport toilet. Our side just says we are human and we make mistakes. As for me, I am for equal rights in life for all people regardless of gender, ethnicity, religeous persuasion, or sexual orientation, whether it's about marriage, pay, reproductive rights, or any of the things that republicans pontificate about ad nauseum.

  • I don't have a side. I have a person who I know will do the job. It makes it so I don't have to. That is what I want. Someone I can trust to get the job done.

  • I could have voted for Obama since Joe Biden was the VP. I like Romney because of his stance on ANWR. The person that supports opening ANWR will be the next true leader of this country. There may be a different litmus test for you.

  • The United States can not continue to use up the worlds oil while it hordes its own. We will never get onto alternative energy if we hoard. Plus all the problems you have in the US now is because we do not have enough energy. It is that simple. Solve that and the other problems will take care of their selves.

  • We have a category; the "U". What that means politically is I am undeclared politically. I was raised Republican who had a grandfather who believed that if we could have kept Hoover, everything would have been ok. Now that is Republicanism. The Republicans closed their primary. I did not think that was the way to go: I vote for the person. The Republicans thought people cross over and vote for the weaker candidate. Then I could be either Republican, any other or Undeclared. I am U: undeclared.

  • The latest McCain approved ad calls Obama "Disrespectful" for apparently suggesting that Palin doesnt have experience because she was a small town mayor, and short time Govenor, in Oct 2007 McCain replied during a primary debate on that very thing, he said...

  • "I have had a strong and a long relationship on national security, Ive been involved in every national crisis that this nation has faced since Beirut, I understand the issues, I understand and appreciate the enormity of the challenge we face from radical Islamic extremism. I am prepared. I am prepared. I need no on-the-job training. I wasnt a mayor for a short period of time. I wasnt a governor for a short period of time." Careful what you say Johnny Boy, it might bite you in the ass!!!

  • Hey I know. I do not agree with negative ads and I want to know what people will be doing in office. I know what Sarah Palin will do in office. All this other flower stuff like Camelot is from folklore. There is already Alaskan folklore about her. Humanity is rich with folklore and Arthur is one of them. I can tell my 4 year old grandchild about this woman and not worry that she will be getting out of a car without her pants on. Not that I mind; I do not need a four year old thinking it is okay.

  • Off Topic but posts have been disabled where I was posting mate. 22nd Nov 1990 "Having consulted widely among my colleagues, I have concluded that the unity of the Party and the prospects of victory in a General Election would be better served if I stood down to enable Cabinet colleagues to enter the ballot for the leadership. I should like to thank all those in Cabinet and outside who have given me such dedicated support." that was Thatch and I believe thats a resignation.

  • The way I look at it is if I was threatened by a cop I would expect the state to get rid of him if found true. The fact he tasered his own son is enough for me to have him in the penalty box.

The investigation will go fine. There is nothing there except sour grapes of people she has beaten.

Palin could have fired Monegan for no reason. We have been down this road before.

  • I heard the ex-state trooper was under investigation for having alcohol in the state trooper vehicle, tassered an 11 yr old and threatened his former father in law. Maybe he needed investigated and fired. Not the kind of individual I would want carrying a badge and a gun.

  • That is what is alleged. He denies the alcohol in vehicle and threatening the father-in-law.

Local radio talk shows in which I contribute to is where I get most of my information and if I remember correctly Monegan could have been the commissioner on the alcohol board, but didnt want that. May not have been that exactly and even though I point out what I think are conflicts, the point is he was offered something else.

  • Thanks for filing in the gaps. Everything I have read is very politically charged here.

I like "facts" that have been documented. I read Anne Kilkinny's letter and quite frankly, her comments are sophomoric, disruntled & opposite party. Never once does she cite her sources and only provides enough information to spike irrational attitudes in those who will not take the time to research what she says. There is some truth to what she says, but she leaves out a lot of vital facts to sway opinions.

  • I did do a little research on Anne Kilkenny because I had heard the name, but did not know the persona. She has been here for awhile and not a cheechako. (Alaska slang for Newbie) I am a Soudough There are a lot of people up here that have a lot of time on their hands (me), rich in spirit (me), think they are doing the right thing(me), not always right(me). To me at this time, you are Alaskan or you are not. We choose our Governor so get behind her or shut up, if you are an Alaskan at heart.

  • Thanks for all of your input. I appreciate it.

If you google Anne Kilkenny you will be able to read the letter she has all over the internet. I critiqed her letter and sent it to her. I doubt that she will respond. I live and worked for the PA Governor Dick Thornburgh for 6 years in a political appointment. So I am aware of arena of politics and issues that can occur. I just like to hear the facts of all parties before making decisions. Thanks so much.

  • The rest of the story is the current investigator Steve Branchflower is the husband of a former cop Linda Branchflower who worked for Walt Monegan, the cops Palin fired as appointed by the legislators with Hollis French a democratic representative or senator and a volunteer and a very vocal supporter of Obama. He will get his in the next election.

  • You don't have a clue do you! I think you have rung up the hate flag. Just get ready because she is going to be the VP and she will be the president.

    OBAMA 2020

  • Newsweek just ran the story, gerkins. He's got it right. Read, "A Police Chief, A Lawsuit And A Small-Town Mayor" for a little education into your VP hero.

  • Good points man. Thanks!

  • There were a hell of a lot more reasons that she fired Irl Stanbaugh. He was a crooked-ass cop who was for sale to anyone with money and clout in town. I'm definitely no Palin supporter, but that was one good decision she made.
